i sewed the tab on today, and did the arcs WWII style, i think it came out great!

shit. . .i forgot to post my start pic. i started on tuesday. i'm pissed that on my first day wearin these i had to cover a story about a guy who killed his five year old son by cutting off his head. we interviewed him later in jail that night. i wanted to put my fist through his head so bad!!!

i did cut some off beforehand but i think it came out slightly when back stitching.

I was also considering painting them this style since i've always liked it on my 1944 LVC's, still on the fence about doing them this way or Evisu style.

I actually painted the arcs with a small sewing needle, dipping the tip slightly in the acrylic paint before every line/dot. That way i could control the amount of paint exactly and where the paint went.

i cut the template in two halfs and did the under side first, then turned the jeans and did the upper side, the back pockets were actually a bit bigger than the templates so i had to adjust them as i went along, i took some pictures to show how i mean:

the paint is a mixture of a dark yellow i bought the other day and off white & dark red i had lying around. maybe 2/3 off white, 1/3 yellow and a tiny bit of red. maybe a bit anal but i paid a lot for these jeans and i want it to look right.

The color looks to match the lemon yellow thread very nicely, i like it.

On the WWII's i have the paint is more orange, but i actually like this color even better.

yeah i googled for images on the LVC 44's but the biggest inspiration was the FLATHEAD 3003 that is a LEVI'S WWII repro and has the painted arcs that are obviously hand painted. horriblyjollyjinx has great pictures of them on his blog.

yo, i thought my man hand-stitched the arcs@first, but the needle-dip painting is even iller. im glad tyshooter is in the game. we needed someone from VA to rep in this contest.

i just soaked/dried my pair today. i went true to waist and got a 35 in the 1108 and i dont like how they fit. if someone has a size 33 they wanna trade for my 35 let me know otherwise im just gonna put these on the marketplace.

yeah they are fully shrunk, like i said if someone has a 33 and wants to trade please let me know because i wanna be a part of the contest...if not ill be selling these.

they look good on you man. throw them in the washer again and see if any shrinkage (more) happens

last nite was my first soak. i soaked them for 45 minutes in hot water.

the original measurements were

waist: 38

inseam: 33

leg opening: 9 (cuff)

after soaking, they shrank a little but not much...

waist: 37

inseam: 31

leg opening: 9 (cuff)

i dried them in the boiler closet overnite.

and here's how they fit today

i'm going to get the arch stitching done and the tab sewn on tomorrow.
