whats a good product to re-waterproof a soft shell?

Depending on how waterproof you need it to be, they have goretex refresh wash, you just wash the jacket and boom, you're good to go. Also, there are spray treatments for waterproof breathables, which I would recommend in addition to the wash if you're using it for something like skiing where theres constant moisture for an extended period. My recommendation would be to hit up your local outdoors/camping/ski shop, or somewhere thats pretty specialized in the area and likely to sell a lot of waterproof/breathable outerwear.

i'm looking for a shell for this patagonia down sweater:

in autumn leaf color patagonia-mens-down-sweater-jacket?p=84673-0-823

i was thinking of something like the penfield caribou jacket :

i want something affordable ($250 tops) and light, but with a bit of lining to supplement the patagonia sweater for the brutal winters. i was mostly considering waxed cotton type shells, but i'm open to other fabrics/materials. recs?

I just got some Filson single tin dry finish pants.

Fabric and quality are insane. Super tight weave, great details, pocket bags are a thick natural duck/canvas. Just took them out of the washing mashine (in hope of some shrinking) and I think they could stand up by themself. Still, they look really clean and not overly "workwear".

Is there any sites that focuses on high tech gear? Stuff like Veilance, acronym, etc etc

Not that shit, but "real" hi-tech/ultra-lite shit:

http://www.hikinginfinland.com/

http://www.trailspace.com/

http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/gear.html?id=PBQHH73G:74.73.110.104

These sites aren't really "cool" per se, but they can be very helpful. Hiking in finland kinda cool actually.

You prolly no em all already. If so, apologies. I been away a while.

Good tailored rain jackets are hard to find. These NAU jackets are the best.

I wore it biking across California, SF to SD.

I bought this last year and it is still rainproof, even after rainy days of bike commute. The fabric is partly made from plastic bottles. Nau is a great company that focuses on sustainability and eco friendly materials.

And it looks awesome and functional!
