iDiom @ the-glade....

Ok, so those of you who subscribe to the-glade newsletter would have known that they just got their stock of iDiom jackets. So they claimed something along the line of "if you know the number of jackets actually available in europe you'll cry" etc etc. but look what i found upon some google search

i'm not hating on the-glade but i feel that they have gone way too far to try to make their items sell

I got the distinct impression that The Glade was trying to put the Idiom stuff they have up there with Acronym. Don't see it myself. Can't say I'm particularly feeling the Idiom pieces they've featured either.

Burtom Idiom isn't too hard to find, so if you're in the US ... find a shop and save some loot.

Just call Burton Rider Services and they will tell you the closest store.

I'm looking for iDiom in Europe. Ordering from US makes no sense since I've always had to pay customs and taxes. Any cheaper place than The-Glade or those other places linked on top of this thread? Hot Zone has the same... Azita, too.

basically EVERY burton retailer can order idiom. he just needs to ask for the goods since their not in the main line.

there's thousands of retailers.

ask your local burton dealer about idiom.

Thanks for the hint. Question is the price - I know the dealers, I know what they have but apparently there are cheaper stores in Europe. Which ones? Where? This a Burton dealer won't be able to tell me.

it's not that there are cheaper or more expensive burton retailers...

find the idiom gear at your local dealer for these suggested retail prices:

pilot jacket: €250/$250

3l jacket: €460/$460

2.5l jacket: €400/$400

Thanks. I've already asked around. It's the same price all over Europe as suggested (dictated?) by Burton. € 290, € 490, € 450 - some go 5 cents below that price to make it appear cheaper. If anyone has suggestions for Europe - not US - I'm around. Otherwise I'll have to skip iDiom I guess.

By the way € and $ are not 1:1 - it's 1:1,20.

the suggested retail price in the USA and europe is the same.

it's just € instead of $. why should burton care to adapt to the current converison rates. wouldnt make any sense.

europeans are better off buying from the states these days due to the 20% difference. might be the other way around in one year from now.

Sorry but I lost you somewhere. € = $? Apparently Europe has it's own distribution and they set the prices for the region. Burton Europe's suggested retail prices are as stated on The-Glade. So they don't jack up the price, they follow what is suggested. I've checked on that. Someone mentioned that there are cheaper places which I haven't found. I'll ask someone to get me stuff from the US then. Thanks for the help!

I'm not really feeling the new Idiom line. I like the Glade/Firmament for their ACR stuff, which is really expensive but very very nice, but the rest of their gear is kind of so/so, IMO.

I know. The dots aren't really new. But I missed the first series... I saw the stuff they had up for pre-order. I'll def. get something 'ACR' later on this year.

This is not true. Burton has "select retailers" that carry their high-end/core lines - Coalition, Idiom, Mark XIII, etc. are only carried at these shops and cannot be found at every Burton retailer. They keep a lot of shit exclusive. (or at least semi-exclusive)

I hear it's much harder to find in Europe and Asia than in the States

I have IDIOM coming for fall and not any burton dealer can carry it.

The prints are DOT and PIN STRIPE

available in black,grey or white.

In person the stuff is super clean and excellent quality.
