I wonder if that is the new #95 duck fabric Ryo and Hiro were talking about in an e-mail I sent last week. I've been thinking about buying a duck messenger bag from them and they had mentioned a new type of duck coming soon.

ive been emailing Ryo and Hiro over the past few days about ordering a pair of jeans in the 02 cut with 03 details , im undecided on the denim but i have some samples on the way of fabric 0 ,22 and 41(i was a bit confused by the email i allways thought no. 0 was sold out but the email made it out to be available , so im not 100% sure if they still have it in stock) im realy looking for a denim similar to the old denime xx fabric , if there is anyone who has had experience with both and could give any suggestions i would be very grateful

I only got the sample of some of their denims. The 41 seems to be the thickest (I remember a discussion wether it was 16 oz or not). Anyway, it is a slubby, irregular fabric which is widely spread, for example on the OOE world Tour jeans. There you'll see fading examples...

thanks mate ive been looking in the ooe thread as well as the world tour thread , i was realy impressed with the 41 denim (at least in the pic's ive seen) . i hope the no. 0 denim is in stock because out of all the pics ive seen of different ooe denim that has stood out the most i remember horriblyjollyjinx comparing it to original levis from 47-51 and the denim was realy similar (fingers crossed)

edit dont know why but i allways thought the world tour jeans were 41 denim as well

Like I said, I might recall it wrong, but didn't you try to convince me, not to take the No.41 as it has shown its fading potentialn already? (But I'm sure you meant that as it's worn by so many other forum members, appearantly not in the WT).

But obviously I just need a scapegoat for my manifesting drinking related brain cell loss.

For those interested here's a sample of their latest duck fabric, #95. According to Ryo & Hiro the #95 is sanfordized and a lighter OZ than the #81. There's pics of their new logger pant in the #95 a few posts down on their blog. I'm thinking of trying the #95 on my messenger bag, I like the darker color.

I have a few questions that people might be able to help me with.

First, I found a post towards the beginning that showed a large amount of fabric swatches. Would these still be current? Second, how have people chosen their fabrics, some of them are incredibly similar. I am interested in the 02 cut, but I feel that the rise might be a bit too long, is it possible to have it shortened? I was unsure to what extent they mean semi-custom.

thanks in advance!

ryan

You can checkout the fabric on Ooe's website:

It is kind of difficult to choose the denim. You can always ask for sample swatches. They will send them to you for free. You can also checkout Ooe's blog http://rhr.blog105.fc2.com and see some fading examples.

I don't think you can shorten the rise on a semi custom order. You can pick fabric, rivet, button, stitch color/type, cinch, patch, and inseam length. Or say you want 02 cut with 01 or 03 details. I don't think you an alter the pattern besides the inseam length.

I'm almost positive that Snake is correct. When I ordered my 02s this past July, I spoke with the good people at Ooe about customization options and got the impression that the pattern is the pattern and will not be altered, save for inseam length. Honestly, The 02 model is by far my favorite denim cut. If you wear them slimmer, i.e. tighter in the waist, you can expect to lose a bit off the front rise.

As far as fabric is concerned, I went with #41. I'm more than satisfied with that decision. I had them send me several samples, all of which were great. I believe pics of some well-worn #41 denim were posted just a few days ago by Nemoulette.

^^This might help you as well:

Anyway, I received my favorite denim samples today and like to share som macros. You can see the fabric number on the backside, so the next picture shows the number of the previous fabric, got it?

Overall impression: the sanforized ones are too thin for my liking, the 41 ist pretty thick and nice, also the 17 which has a nice dirty look.

Enjoy!

^For some reason I thought Jaco Blue had #36? Could be wrong though, I haven't gone back through the pages in ages. I'll post pics once I put an order through...Thinking of exactly a 4303XX, which I'll most likely wash weekly a la Ryo and Hiro...

EDIT: yup....Jaco has the 43's....very nice...

Absolutely fantastic! Love that the wearer has been washing them and isn't going for contrasty fades. Look very vintage to me.

Go with the 43! It's an amazing denim, quite fast fade with light vintage feeling in the quality! And with potential of nice ripples in the fade!
