just got deadstock 501s, tight as hell

Recommended Posts

went and got a pair of Levi's 501 deadstocks, two questions for you guys

1. Most LVC i've heard of are of a certain year, ie. 1947 repro. how do I tell which one this is?

2. They are unbelievably tight right now, especially in the thigh. does anyone have any experience in how much they stretch out?

thanks for the input

are they lvc and not shrink to fit?

if they were lvc, it would tell you which year the jeans are in the booklet, if im not mistaken

yeah, they're lvc, came with the tags, but didn't come with the booklet...

selvage, coin pocket selvage, hidden rivets, big E...

so i'm pretty sure they're not STF

probably 47's which are the slimest and if they are unwashed and tight you might as well take them back because they shrink about 10% when you wash them.

You definitely need to buy a size up in LVC, unless you don't plan to wash them. Then they stretch out fine.

The model or year of issue will be on the cardboard tag that was sewn over the waistband of the jeans.

^^partytaco i think you're right about them being the 47

i found the booklet which the salesman put in the bag, but it still doesn't indicate anywhere.

i figure, if i wear them for 6 months before washing, they'll stretch out quite a bit, and then after I wash, they'll shrink right back to how they are now before stretching a bit until they're perfect...icon_smile_tongue.gif

either that, or i'll have a pair up for sale soon.

seriously i would return them. yes they will stretch alittle (these unwashed stf seem to have very little give to them in my experience) but when they hit water they will still shrink down 10% of the original new unstretched size and then you'll be left with something you'll never be able to squeeze into...you bascially bought a pair of pants you'll never be able to wash (or dryclean). i know you probably intended on not washing them for 6 months anyway but seriously do you think you'll have these jeans a year or two from now still in their unwashed state.
