I think the 'duck' is referencing the cotton duck (canvas) fabric that was used in workpants that were a pre-cursor to denim jeans. One of the Duck Digger styles is available in canvas (very nice too).

So basically it's a sub-line of Warehouse, specialising in repros of early jeans-style workpants. The 1900 style is a repro of the 'Boss of the Road' (Levi's rival brand) 'waist overalls' - see PaulT's excellent book... icon_smile.gif

Could be, especially as duck was widely used in the maritime industry for sailcloth, sailors trousers, hammocks, bags, boat covers etc.

Otherwise, the other popular theory is that it comes from the dutch word for cloth "doek". The etymology of jeans related words is a pretty interesting study.
