Here's my email and the reply from imperial...if anyone cares.

Quote: ME-I heard that you won't ship to countries that already stock imperial, does the US have any imperial stockists? If not, what size would I be in imperial dry blue dukes? I'm a true 31 waist, but in nudie RRs and other jeans I buy 30 waist to account for stretching. Also, how much would a pair cost, shipped, to maryland? Any info would be appreciated. thanks.

No we don't stock in the US, so we can ship to you.

Sounds like you'll need our 32's, we generally say our sizes are genuine

waist sizes whereas most jeans brands throw arbitrary numbers on as their

sizing. We have sent out a few pairs to guys on the internet. They have

put up comparative sizing information on bulletin boards if you would like

to be sure.

My boss has allowed me to send them out by mail, under the proviso we do

not give definitive sizing/style recommendations as jean sizes universally

are so varied. If we give definitive answers to these questions i guess it

would be our fault if you ordered wrongly.

I'll have to look into the shipping costs to Maryland but there is no way

you'll pay anymore than $200 AUD all things told (jeans, packaging,

handling and shipping).

Let me know how you go with sizes.

I don't get what Imperial are doing sending out jeans like this.

Especially for only $200, doesn't seem right. They sell out here and don't restock as they only make a couple of hundred pairs a season.

Smells like they are trying to slowly infiltrate other markets by getting people in their stuff before they hit the market.

i might be imagining things but then again it doesn't add up.

Denim R i think you are wrong. Every email I have got from them has been all about the denim. Bit annoying after a while when all you want is info.

I've got the feeling these guys are all about the denim and if people come asking for their stuff they would be stoked just to get other denim freaks in their stuff.

By what you said they are obviously not really that interested in the money, only 200 pairs a season thats not enough to live off even

I live in Australia. Bought mine from a store. Before I found superfuture I was emailing them asking them wash instructions.

Always found information guy to be uber helpful so thats sort of why i don't like to hear denim r slagging them off.

also, denim you sound like you love the jeans why be so cynical?

These are size 30 indigo Imperial Dukes

I wear 28 (in some 29) in most other brands.

the true meaning of DEADSTOCK is exactly how it sounds... stock which is dead. as in, no longer in active production.

"Damn, i'm sitting on a lot of deadstock" (and yeah it happens to be all unworn as well)

ebay auctions, and the term as used by "sneaker enthusiasts" have really bastardized the meaning of that word.

i think the term originallly came into popular vocabulary from sellers of vintage clothing trying to differentiate between 2 kinds of "new"

one kind of NEW - meaning something brand new that just came in and unowrn.

another kind of "new" meaning something old but still new and unworn.

the latter became known as "deadstock" to avoid confusion since its older stock no longer in production, but still new unworn condition.

using the phrase deadstock to describe something that just came out (and still in production) is actually incorrect.
