what is the next level?

raf has been around a long while. RO is played. CP is played. Cloak is dead. Dior is dead. Julius, Viridi, meh.

Next level is buying the stuff that's still awesome from the old shows that kicks the shit out of what's coming out today. Rick Owens is only played if all you're buying is his same-every-season leather jackets and t-shirts. Raf has like 12 seasons of awesome clothing to choose from (if and when you can find it). Same thing for Dior.

You don't have to be current season to be next level in comparison to everyone else.

He posted under an extra screen name i had lying around for some reason, but he posted once and for some reason the account got deleted. He posted a pic of himself and made fun of it to bait people, so he might've gotten ip banned for cross forum flaming since he can't even access sufu now.

i don't know why people shit on current raf colections. 99-04 was best, but his stuff is still better than pretty much anything else out there.

Other than a few statement pieces each season that show some pretty decent / interesting construction it's definitely gotten pretty weak (at least form what I've seen the past three seasons). I don't really care much for the last two collections but most anything before that is good in my book (sans maybe one or two others between 05 / 08).

i dunno, my f/w 06-08 pieces are holding up fine. i guess i tend to but the more dramatic pieces anyway as his suiting isn't cut for me. i have to say my 02 puffer is much beter made than anything i've seen the last few seasons but his knitwear still seems well constructed to me.

i'd include 05 into his best, but how do you figure that? not to mention the quality has gone down drastically.

i dunno, the tech fabric thing has been explored for a while. polymade, techno fabric prada suits. maybe the opposite. maybe burlap.

i think helmut has missed his window. why come back at 50?

i wonder if people will fawn over a return from hedi too.

i would think the greater incorporation of technology would be the next logical step. clothes that heat, that cool, that manage the environmental changes for you.

But is that fashion or simply technology? There's a lot of work from C.P. Company / Final Home / etc... that works within the realm of clothing in regards to the environment that I don't really consider 'fashion.'

everything is integrated so fashion shouldn't be some primal reactionary thing. if it's an extension of self, then in this day, technology has to be part of that. isn't an ipod fashion even though it looks like it does because of how it works? it's all a continuum.
