@Geeman @fresh1 @chambo2008 @kicks79 Thanks for the feedback! It sounds like I should ignore that 1.5" stretch advice and simply go with that of my flat waist measure. I bought them off someone that likely also had sizing issues, since they were new and unworn, so I've put them up for sale on Grailed at a discount if anyone is interested.

Have both 120x and 220x and trying to see what I could do to soften the denim up and try to get rid of the stiffness/rigidity to them. I’ve only soaked both of them each once.

Should I do a gentle wash/dry?

Washing isn't going to hurt them, but  yu may as well just wear them to break them in.

@noobedloser

washing might help get additional starch out but you gotta wear them to truly soften them up. I’ve got a pair of 120x and I think I’ve machine washed them once and tub soaked twice. I’ve worn them quite a bit and they are just now getting soft.

I’ve been wearing my 120x for a few months now but still have the rigidity. I’ve only soaked them once though which might be the reason why. Maybe a wash will get rid of the starch and soften them up

Managed to get one of the indigo garment dyed pima cotton tees. Really nice variation of color compared to my rope dyed indigo tees.
The pima cotton is super soft, and the indigo dyed version made the tee a bit shorter which is good. The normal two packs seem too long based on the size charts.

How do you like the fit @Broark ? I regret not getting the indigo heavy weight tee in an XL as they shrink up a good bit, even when using a cold wash and hang dry.

@Lazerr the fit on this one is nice, the XL measures 23 in. in the chest and 27 in. in length.
The normal black pima tees measure 22.5 chest / 29 length, so slimmer and longer. I prefer shorter, boxier tees.

@Broark  I see, that seems perfect as the what I prefer as well. Shirt looks great, I wonder if they will restock on these when the shop in LA opens up again.

@Lazerr not sure if they're doing another run of these or not, these were a special run dyed by Green Matters Natural Dye Company.

@Broark Ahhh darn, I'll add myself to the waitlist and see if they do another run. In any case, i'll try grabbing one of the Ash colored Tees.

3sixteen ST-TH1 220x 10th anniversary edition

Haven't posted in superdenim in a minute! Worn for 3 years or so and then on/off for a year. I took these photos last year and haven't gotten around to repairing some of the holes but I hope to wear them again.

I'd buy if the taper wasn't so bad. But, BOW now mostly seems to sell denim with the carrot taper, which I hate. Is this the new normal for denim?

Its a new 12.5oz denim. CT fit has worked for me in the past so I was wondering how the denim is itself...

Always liked the brand but the rise was always too low for me. Also didn’t like the taper.

      Hey all,

Welcome to Rivet & Hide. We are a London based premium raw denim store starting life online with plans afoot for a bricks and mortar home in the future.

We offer free shipping worldwide and our UPS account will ensure a fast and reliable delivery around the world.

I have been a SuFu member for years sharing thoughts, ideas and countless questions about denim and clothes that are made with heart and soul. This inspired me to set up and finally bring Rivet & Hide to life.

Some of the brands will be familiar to you but part of the concept is to bring new and less well known denim producers into the sphere and we have worked hard to get that balance right.

It has been a lot of fun meeting many of the people behind the brands and seeing their skills at work. We have clocked up many miles visiting them around the world making new friends along the way. A shorter trip through the Welsh valleys to beautiful Cardigan Bay to meet the Hiut Denim guys was just as rewarding. A special thanks for all the help and support from Giles & Paula at Ironheart UK and Anders Helseth of Steel Feather.

We struck gold with a Union Special 43200g which was sourced from California. It’s in mint condition and dates back to 1950. Any hemming requirements can be consummately fulfilled.

We have measured all our stock individually. We have not relied on suppliers or anyone else’s measurements. Our HOW WE MEASURE guide is based on BiG (thank you) with the addition of a hip measurement.

We offer a 28 day returns policy with full refunds. Shipping included.

      The launch brands are:

      Railcar Fine Goods
      Steel Feather
      Flat Head
      Real Japan Blues
      Hiut denim co
      Nudie jeans
      Obbi Good Label.

As we go into the Autumn we will be adding to our launch stock including some more great shirts from The Flat Head’s Winter collection, and introducing you to a new Japanese brand.

We are planning a launch party hosted by our friends at Kaffeine, Great Titchfield Street, in Central London in the Autumn and will give you the heads up closer to the time. You will be more than welcome to join us.

Feel free to ask any questions here or contact us at [email protected] or [email protected]

3Sixteen ST-120 and ST-140 in size 30.  Both worn for ~2w.  Unaltered, unwashed, unsoaked.  Ordered from Blue Owl Workshop who's measurements were spot on, but these stretched a lot less than I expected.

I am asking $125each, $200 for both shipped CONUS.  If you live elsewhere I am located in zipcode 94606 for you to calculate shipping costs.

3sixteen ST-121x size 31.  Heavyweight is just not for me.  Bought these slightly worn, wore twice, selling in hopes of getting a ST-120 in same size.  Unsoaked, unwashed, unaltered.  Would like $125 plus shipping.
