Post O'alls

I know they have been mentioned in several other threads but I thought they deserved a thread all of their own in Superdenim (if I missed one then mods please lock this up). Post O'alls is a small operation based in NYC run by a Japanese guy. I'm not sure who else is involved. Their speciality is reproductions of vintage workwear pieces.

Long story short, after several months of hunting for one of their chambray shirts, and several emails with Katsuo, the man behind Post, I finally managed to get hold of one a couple of days ago.

Also available at my local shop was an indigo chore coat, and a cruiser jacket, another chambray and a couple of chino pants. All the stuff looked very impressive. Apparently following in the next delivery will be another chore coat in herringbone tweed which sounds very interesting.

On to the shirt....

This shirt was expensive but after coveting it for months I had to stump up the cash. First impressions were very good, the fabric is cone mills 8oz(?) chambray, raw unsanforized as far as I know. I decided to treat this like a new pair of jeans and give it a hot soak.

It's drip drying now and I can't believe the amount of indigo that came out of it! My hands are blue from handling it. Hopefully it has shrunk down a bit as it was a little oversized when raw. Fit pics will follow at the weekend.

Post O´alls are one of those japanese brands I dream about at night... Almost everything looks amazing, with just the right details and cuts. The cruizer vests, aswell as navy deck pants are orgasmic. Hopefully I´ll get some of that someday...

btw, great shirt ;) nice touch with the chin strap. looking forward to fit pics.

I have some comme des garcons x post overalls carpenter pants I got off ebay for a good price. They are pretty lightweight and extremely comfy for pants like this. The cut is really good, not baggy in a bad way at all, they are not that comparable to standard carpenter pants I guess. I would love to get more of their stuff, but have yet to decide who I would order through.

If you email them through the website, you can buy direct from them in NYC, i am not sure of NYC stockists though.

The jeans look pretty damn nice. 15oz cone denim, green selvedge, exposed back pocket rivets, slim looking fit, nice pocket bag fabric, talon zip, donut top button....

Such a lovely brand. This place has a lot of PostOalls and also Corona, which is very similar brand (connected somehow?). http://www.lightbulb.jp/post.html

Then there is also Imperial PostOalls (http://www.c-shack.com/chika/c_shop/n_jk_3.html).

When having stuff like this, I think its very important you wear it loose enough, not going one size down etc..

Some good styling: http://strato3.exblog.jp/i34/ <PostOalls

That's good, I tried to deal with them through email, but replies were taking weeks and eventually I settled on something else. I wanted a pair of their cone mills denim though, bad. :( How long did it take you make a transaction, and how did you pay, etc.?

  • 4 weeks later...

The jeans and jackets they are making look superb.

The detail really is there on such theoretically 'simple workwear' items. I cannot wait to get my hands on some from one of the UK stockists. :)

Thos 15oz cone jeans look great, nice heavyweight, without being too like iron to break in I am hoping! ;)

Ok I had a look through my pics and these are not great fit pics but it's all I have.

The shirt shrunk up quite a lot when I machine washed it, as I hoped. It also softened up nicely. I really like the fit, it's quite vintage-y.

I have just received a short sleaved Post O'Alls shirt in the post today. Am very pleased from taking an initial look at it, I opted for a L in the size, so hope it sizes up OK when I get home later.

The quality and small touches are really very nice indeed. It looks to be made with a great deal of thought for such an item.

Althought the fabric feels very soft, the shirt looks like it will outlast me!!

Yes it was, were we in bidding competition? :o

I thought it looked a good price to see what they are like before going down option of grabbing one new. Looks like new to me, although not sure what kind of washing it might have had so far.

Thanks for tip, I shall wash at 60deg to make sure it goes to smallest that it should in future. ;)
