Shoes without socks

it's mainly at the heel, where era's have this doubled over and stitched down seam that forms a sharp little ridge. sizing up might not be such a bad idea.

also, i like the botch reference.

I have a few pairs of Authentics, for one pair I sized one up (by mistake, actually) and I got blisters pretty badly just because my foot was slipping around all the time. Hopefully it's different for you and Eras. Pretty pleased someone picked up the reference too.

I don't understand how everyone is having so many problems with this...

You can wear cotton/ canvas shoes ie: vans, converse etc. sockless and not have an issue, just break them in with socks on prior to wearing them without.

If they get gross just put them in the washing machine and air dry, or some companies make cleaners for stuff like that if you prefer...
