alright, so 1980, it begins.

mid 80's, begins to be recognized by some people all over the world.

early 90's. chapter stores begin to open.

mid 90's. sell out period - macy's, etc

late 90's, japan explosion?

2000's - mix of surf shops, boutiques, and urban outfitters.

is that right? anyone know what sales were like in the 80's. prices / etc?

I'm guessing the question is what did the shit cost way back when??

First stuff I bought was around 86' - 87'.

Brushed cotton beach pants I remember being $42 or so. Shorts around $30

tees were like $14 maybe (with FOTL tag not stussy)

Polos/striped crew tops were around $25-$30 as well, that was alot back then.....

I wore all that stuff till it fell apart.

Quote: i remeber getting stussy shirts in 91 at the mall from Haris, $16.99 was steep back then.

OH SsSSsNAP.

Foney, thats where I used to get 'em also.

And my Mossimo.

I had to go to Beach Access to get Fresh Jive.

And then Rebel, Color Crazy (C&C), and Extreme for my clothes after that.

damn 16.99!? i forgot about that

I don't remember what Stussy cost way back in the 80's, but that sh!t was a gay sellout mainstream label, on par with OP, Quiksilver, Sideout and T&C. Waaaaay back then if you were hardcore you threw your parent's cash at independent surf/skate shops. If you were a poser, you hit up the original PacSun in the SM Place. And if you were a complete tool you got dragged by mommy to Broadway/Robinsons/Bullocks.

Was Pacsun around then? I did the buying for surf shops in the mid-late 80's and this

is bringing back crazy memories, mostly of the kook clothing but lots of others that

continue on, what others do you recall?

Dude! There were much better Mossimo graphics, years before that one.

My personal favorites were:

1) BB King on a white shirt, gold/black print from what i remember.

2) Harley bike drawing

3) Mr. Clean with the "Come Clean" text

4) the Mr. Bubbles one

5) the Mr. Condom guy with the fishing pole over his shoulder

anyways, the classic cartoony graphics were the best

their plaid shorts were pretty dope also, with the Mossimo embroidered at the bottom.

Oh Mossimo. What could have been...

Haha yeah mossimo had some great designs back then...it would be great if they re released some of their old graphics again...but seeing as how target is target i doubt it will happen...unless someone from target is reading this right now...
