i was tired when i wrote that and i obviously left out some givens, like Common Sense, but also off the top of my head id give cypress Hill's Black Sunday honorable mention, plus artists: The Roots, Rakim, N.W.A., Jay-Z, Ice cube.. blah blah blah

Top 3 would be a bit difficult seeing as how there are 20yrs of amazing music...but here's the three that first popped into mind:

1. Main Source - Breaking Atoms

2. Roots - Illadelph Halflife

3. Nas - Illmatic

This top 3 selection isnt as easy as it seems...

Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II

Mobb Deep - The Infamous

Grand Puba - 2000 (purely because 'don't even come with that 69 hun, 'cause i told ya last week, 68 an' i owe ya one' is the best lyric EVER. oh, and because a list of three is just ridonculous people)

oh and i have to spare a word for Roots Manuva - Brand New Second Hand 'cos i'm English and it's dope.

It's interesting to see some of the generational stuff here, you can sort of gauge people's age by their responses. Like if you cite Public Enemy or BDP vs. Wu-Tang or something, I think a lot of that has to do with how old you were when you got really into hip hop. I'm in the latter group, and my top three would be:

1. Wu-Tang Clan: Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

-anybody else notice the edited version of C.R.E.A.M. on the clean album and in the video is way better than the unedited version?

2. Mobb Deep: The Infamous

3. Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die

What makes you think Common enjoys sex with other men?

Hell on Earth > The Infamous if you take away the nostalgia factor.

I was listening to Company Flow last night and after listening to the album for 10 years, I JUST realized Bad Touch Example had that wicked voice echo.
