was kinda pissed this morning because i was supposed to play in the big game final round qualifier (passed round 2, sick brag), but pokerstars gave me that same stupid message that u.s. players can't play, even though they let me play in round 2 yesterday???

so i went and played in my first live tourney ever and binked it for a $450 score ($60 buy-in, split pot with top 4) and an entrance into another tourney next sat for a $1000 wsop seat or something like that

i would cancel your cash outs, the payment processors have nothing to lose by stealing your money. i wouldn't be worried about your money if its on Stars/FTP, but if you have money on UB consider it gone!

I have high 4 figures locked up by this, by the way :)

Dear xxxxx,

We were very pleased to receive the news today that allows US players to cash out their real money balances.

In response to this update, the Cashout Option in the PokerStars Cashier will be temporarily closed to allow us to prepare the technical solutions and formulate the plan and processes required to allow you to cash out your balance.

In the interim, any pending cashouts have been returned to your account in order to ensure players have the opportunity to cash out orderly. Please be assured, US player balances are safe. We will notify all US players as soon as the cashier is available again.

Providing you with the facility to cash out is our top priority right now, and hopefully all US players will be able to cash out via the PokerStars Cashier in the near future. We apologize for the temporary delay, and sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation, as we continue working towards providing you with a solution to cash out.

Regards,

PokerStars Support

any euros still playing online? (fml)

had a pretty good degenerate weekend at the poker tables. i got wasted on friday night (getting wasted -EV, playing on friday night +EV) and managed to win like 2 BI's at the cash tables over the course of the night. played until like 5 am, so my win rate wasn't really that great but i still had a good time. ended up sleeping in my car for a few hours like a true degen before i played in my tourney on saturday which was...

so i went and played in my first live tourney ever and binked it for a $450 score ($60 buy-in, split pot with top 4) and an entrance into another tourney next sat for a $1000 wsop seat or something like that

placed 3rd out of like 65 people in this second round tourney. top 10 gained entry into a satellite tourney held in june for a $10k WSOP ME seat... pretty pumped for that. 1st place had a choice of either a $1k WSOP seat or $800 cash (after taxes). (top 5 split pot for $360 each)

i think i'm just going to concentrate on these small tourneys for the time being, because cash games in my state are $100 max bet which is fucking retarded, and i figure i might as well get as much live tournament experience as possible before the WSOP ME satellite

black friday has definitely brought a lot more internet players to the casinos though. overhead a bunch of guys complaining about having money locked up online and having to drive an hour to play, etc. etc.

did you notice the skill level of live games going up now that the internetters switched? Whenever i play live its like 1/3 or 2/5 spread limit (or nl) and the people are absolutely shitty. Going on a weekend night (read payday) is always a profitable venture

hard to say, because most live 1/2 players are complete garbage. have definitely noticed more young LAG players and maniacs, but i wouldn't say the skill level has gone up necessarily. most players don't seem to have any concept of bet sizing at all

and yeah, weekend nights are the best because a bunch of people are just there to gambooooooool. i've never heard so many, "my favorite hand is XX" in my life lol

http://money.cnn.com/2011/09/20/news/companies/poker_ponzi/index.htm

in other news i have been crushing lately, 4 session $940 up swing; hope i can tack a little more on tonight.

fun hand from a few nights ago;

8 handed $1/2 nl / plo8, round for round. i have ~$250 behind, btn has ~$400.

i have A8o in bb, btn makes it $8 total after one mp limper.

sb calls i tell myself "he has a big ace if i dont hit 2pair or better i fold instantly on flop" in my head and call.

flop AT3r, sb chk, i chk, btn bet 11. sb call, i float praying for an 8

turn A, chks through

river J, sb chk, i chk, btn bets 20

sb calls, i snap fold and table the ace

btn shows AKo, sb had T9o.

pretty standard but it felt good

Anyone else play poker or online poker on here? I know there's gotta be more than a few degens on here that play poker to kop jawnz.

I'm on most US friendly poker rooms: Bovada (formerly Bodog) and Lock being the ones I frequent the most. I randomly was sat on the same table as gramps one night. My hometown friend won the Lock Poker Pro Bluff Challenge and got on the front page of Bluff Magazine and is currently a Lock Poker Pro. If interested in joining, I think he can send you a link to open a new account with 30% rakeback off the bat and could increase the more you play. Anyone interested can send me a pm (we are currently trying to iron out some issues with it).

Maybe we can start off by listing your favorite online sites, live circuits you play in, favorite local poker rooms, and your experiences, etc.

Been playing poker pretty seriously for the last few years, only live tho. I prefer mixed games but its tough to find action. Might shoot you a pm about that lock account soon, a friend of mine has been playing on there for awhile and likes it.

Anyone ever play plo8? Definitely my best game, strategy discussions could be cool.
