canon 40d vs. nikon d300

anyone have any recommendations on the subject?

is the d300 worth the extra 600?

ive used a canon to shoot film but never nikon, nor have i shot digital all that much.

i wish i could throw down for a full frame, but cropped will have to do.

also if i was gonna go with the d300,

can you nikon folks recommend some lenses?

i need a 50mm prime (or about that) and a nice wide angle (10-22mm?) that arent ridiculous amounts of money.

Well - it depends how professionally you want to go..

If this is ur first dslr - go with the Canon..a perfect camera for almost every situation...also - you'll find cheaper lenses to upgrade...

i shoot canon now (20d) and i have almost made the switch to nikon, for the fact that they are offering a prosumer body w/ 8fps and 1/250xsync. i normally shoot skating, bmx, etc so 8fps would be nice and especially since i got my 20d for almost the same price as the d300 now, its reallyyy tempting. but i am a fan of canon glass and there interface, etc.
