ahw man this confuses me. Are you sure. Is this also the case on the Special denims from sugar cane

True waist 84cm. Nudie size 31 Skulll size 32

Mil-Mil states a 32 is 84cm 33 is 86cm

and beat states a 32 is 82cm and 33 is 84cm

and cansass states a 32 is 83cm. and 33 is 85cm

I think ill be getting a 33. The thing will shrink like hell ? And its better to be safe and a have a size too big.

They shrink to tagged size. When they are fully shrink, a 33 will measure 33.

are you gettin raw or one wash?

all the raws are gonna be 2 inches larger in the waist till they are soaked or washed, then they shrink to tag size.

the differneces in the measurements are only slight from what you have shown and 2cm will make no differnce.

i really dont recommend getting a 33, the waist of a one wash 33 will not get smaller than 84cm and will stretch, so within a couple of weeks the jeans will be too large.

if you are really worried about the sizes just go for the 31, you obviously sized down for you nudie

I actually sized up with my skulls. And yes i got a bit fat around the waist. So 33 is too big. Bender from mynudies got 31 but that was tight he said he could wear a 30 in nudies thats just impossible for me. I'll just go for the 32.

Thanks AsherC for your help (twice)

i think they are special just cos they are made using natural indigo, its a really rare and expensive process done by only a few people in japan. the awa part may refer to a certain dyer, im not sure but have a look for kicking mule awa

i tried on a 1966, and another one with a snakeskin looking back tag. I kept sizing down to try and get a slim (not skin tight, but slim) fit. But the smallest size i could button up the seat and thighs were just too huge.

What sugarcane models, if any, should I be trying on if I want a semi slim fit? between a new standard and regular ralf.

a different brand

Dick is right, the narrowest is probably a 66 (what about the 55?) and in general they are cut like workwear. SExSC, which is slim, is coming out though so you might want to keep an eye out for that.

but i find that sugar cane is refreshing precisely because they don't do your usual slim cuts and keep it very much to traditional regular cuts.

quick question.

i just came back from japan with a pair of okinawa's in a 32 and was looking to get a pair of hawaiis. would i get the same size. from pictures that ive seen online the leg looks skinnier on the hawaiis. and also how are they different in terms of fit compared to the 5 star (a pair that i was also considering)

too bad i didnt see either pair at the store or i would have tried them on then.

thanks in advance

I found the hawaiis and okinanwas to fit pretty similairly overall. The oki's were just a tad longer and slimmer....but 90% the same cut. As waist size goes, get the same thing

I'm thinking about getting a pair of these babies, but the raw measurements on these are a bit off of all the other naturally dyed models (like the dragon tag sc 40500 for instance). The only pair left is a size 29, and I could fit that if it weren't for the fact that they say to expect 7-10% shrink after wash- which would bring it to about 26 in waist. If anyone has gotten a pair raw please let me know if they just shrink less than the others since they are LHT?

DDML, I saw you have a pair, please help! Theyre too expensive to gamble on...

thanks Bill, Im not sure what that means exactly as i dont know how the 47's fit, tapered? tighter? etc.

thanks

Yeah, Joey pretty much nailed it. I found the Oki's to be just a hair longer and narrower overall than the Hawaiis/Union Stars/47's; all of which had a slightly shorter inseam, and overal boxier appearance. I seem to have gotten my Oki's to fit slimmer than others on here however, and didn't size down at all really....maybe just cause I'm tall?

Bobbejaan, has your jeans arrived yet? Ordered mine about 4 days ago and they've just been shipped today. Got the EMS tracking number from my proxy. Cheers for the link to the jeans (from mynudies).

no mine are F***** still in customs. I HATE CUSTOMS. so maybe tomorrow.

But which ones did you get ? the SC40200 ? If so please support my waiting with some nice pics.

so the Okis are slimmer all the way down than the unions, but the unions are slightly tapered. would the unions have a smaller leg opening at the bottom?

thanks

We have full measurements for every cut that you're comparing on our website:

Checked the tracking. they just left Tokyo Metro, so as of now, they are still somewhere over the Pacific. Lucky customs is fairly quick in Aus. I've ordered jeans from overseas previous and usually the turnaround time in Aus customs for non-food items is less than 2 hours. I'm thinking no more than 2 days which means either Wednesday or Thursday.

Yeah, got the SC40200. Man, natural indigo for the same price as SC40301 Okinawas? How could you not cop? Will post pics as soon as they arrive.

Just an update on my 55s. Did a hot wash and then stuck it in an industrial dryer for 20min (it's almost hypnotic how it tumbles around like that). Indigo bleed wasn't too bad. The inside pockets were stained blue a little, and it's a bit bluer overall. The fit feels completely different though. Lost 2 inches in the cuff (fits perfect now), about an inch in the waist and like 2 inches in the seat. Had to struggle a little to button it on at first (it's a 34 btw), but by the end of the day it stretched out to just a little tighter than the raw state, and it should loosen up to what it was before in a few days. The major change was the seat. It doesn't look huge anymore. It's still loose, but I didn't buy these thinking that they were slimfits.

This post was back in late February. Since then, I've washed my SC41955s three times. First time hand wash, and then second and third times in the washing machine with normal detergent. (I'm lazy, sue me). The denim has gotten a lot softer and drapes better on my body. They've continued to shrink every time I've washed them, though not as much as the first time. I've also gained about 10lbs since I bought them as well, which sort of helps with the filling out. I've finally gotten around to taking some pics. Still with a crappy phone camera.

For reference, I'm 5'9" 182lbs and this is a W34.

Props to Spe for the fast pickup and delivery. And props to Bobbejaan for putting the info up. Natural indigos at 30% off regular prices. Terrible timing, but just could not say no. Be eating instant ramen for the next few weeks, but all worth it (and yes, I have money saved for the dubbleworks comp. I have been preparing)

They're hot soaking in the tub right now. They fit alright raw, might be a tight squeeze after shrinking. They felt like they had some kind of coating on them, can't describe it. And the feeling of the sugarcane fibres on your legs is rough. Really rough, and not slubby jean rough. Like coarse pan scourer rough.
