If you can find the Hawaii with a red tab that's like finding the holy grail ;)

Edited! Those only came with the green tab.. it was the repro models which used to come with red tabs.

That's a very rare find.. they only made the Okinawa/Hawaii with a tab up until the summer of 2008.

@kiya very cool! Thanks for that. Wonder how/why the seller had them sitting around that long and now decided to move them. Glad I picked them up but hope I don’t end in the same situation ten years down the line... Want to wear them now, but have enough in rotation pairs and joining the TCB contest starting in September.

I picked up these M41030 that were listed as tagged 35. Sadly they came in at a true 30" and too damn small for me. Bummed. But what a cool pair of jeans. The denim texture, color, and overall details are just something else.

@graytrain,

Great pair and I like the cinch but the original wearer appears to have been quite shin length challenged.

Not entirely true. The Okinawas had a red tab but were not a repro model.

@indigo_junkie, I still have a pair of Oki's with red tab I purchased from you about.. 8 years ago, I think. They've been great jeans—still going strong!

I remember the red tab being cut off, which was part of the reason I sold them. Glad you enjoyed them.

does anyone have experience shrinking the standard one-wash 1953 jacket? (non-modified length version) 22.4 inches is a bit too long for me. i’ve easily been able to get an inch of inseam shrinkage out of every pair of 47‘s i’ve ever owned which i believe are made from the same denim.

would you guys know if the Lot 019 and 023 from Buzz Rickson use denim from Sugarcane? The 023 feels similar to the SC1947 but I'm not sure if they are the same as my 1947 pair is already pretty worn the the lot 023s are not.

hey man! i shrunk mine a bit with two hot washes off the bat, probably 2-3cm in the chest and maybe 2cm in length. i have a size 38, i could measure for you, but i'm assuming you're looking at size 36.

Here are some photos of my Sugarcane 66s after about 6 months of wear with maybe 10 washes. Would this be what is called grey cast denim?
