They look similar to the ancient Levi's raised from the bottom of the sea in a chest and auctioned off recently. Actually, if you put these in a box at the bottom of the sea now, you can see what happens after a while.

Reminds me of a post I put together many years ago on Denimbro.. just to take the piss out of the denim miners

I used to live near an old mining village so I got a pair of highstreet Levi’s from the 90s and using a biro.. I roughly wrote 1873 on the patch and buried them in a slag heap.. I used dowsing rods to locate them :D  @Dr_Heech will remember it..

It was just a reaction to all the faux denim mining crap we were seeing around the forum.. all shot in HDR of course with carefully orchestrated, period accurate, candle wax drippage..

Ha.. I’ve just found them in my denim drawer at work.. I’ve been cutting them up for patches

The  denim mining adventures were just contrived photo shoots to show Rising Sun jackets and Mister Freedom jeans in their apparent ‘natural environment’ when in reality.. that isn’t a mine shaft in the desert, it’s a single origin coffee shop in Portland:D

Rather than throwing them in the bin, why not ship them to Germany? I can wash them and repair them and give them a 3rd life. Size 32 is perfect for me :) Happy to pay for the shipping.

Fine by me..

I must warn you tho, the 'grime' on the thighs is a build up of a home made mould release solution which i use to coat moulds at work.. it's on the thighs because the thighs are at table height and being wax based, you will probably not be able to remove it unless you very hot wash them with lots of detergent.. also, i've already removed the patch but if you still want them.. you're welcome to them, just drop me a pm to sort out the deets.. RM tracked to Germany will probably be around £10

When I get pva glue on my fingers, I wipe it off on my arse.. y’know like a proper craftsman.. not like these phoney ‘instagram craftsmen’ with their immaculately manicured beards, under shaved hair and duck cloth riveted aprons who wipe their hands on a vintage discharge print bandana :D

I think the glue ruins the arc stitch.

The SC47s are really great- the cut, the fabric, as has been said many times, great value/price ratio.
If a friend asked me for a good recommendation at a reasonable price I'd recommend them.
Even without arcs and tab now. At Pants Shop Avenue one can find the rigid ones.

This! I remember reading an interview where one of the offenders was asked if he was concerned his candle wax drippage looked like jizz. He was content that those in the know would appreciate his wax for what it was and he didn’t give two hoots about what the rest of the world thought.

Well those in the know still think it looks like jizz!

Hfff! It was such bullshit..

The candles were supposed to mirror old timely mining by candle light, yet they arrived on dirt bikes carrying $6000 worth of photography equipment.. if they’re so concerned with period accuracy you should arrive on horseback carrying a Box Brownie.. if not, use a fucking torch!

I’m sure the wax was just purposefully dripped on the clothing for the sake of the photo shoot ..

Thank you! Will DM now. And don't worry, I'll let everyone I run into know that they're not covered in jizz

Has anyone bought/considered buying the new SC blanket-lined Type 2 yet - SC15210?

It’s a good price. I just can’t justify another denim jacket so I’ll live vicariously through you.

Hey come on mate, time to stop living vicariously, especially on a day like today - it's your birthday ffs. Just have more alcohol and then drunk -buy a TTS fit size model only to be uber-regretful the following morning :D

On a more serious note - At least the lining content is at last(!) true to the Troy Mills wool/rayon/cotton mix type blanket linings used in vintage denim jackets between c.1930 and the mid 1970's.

What’s the status of this holy trinity in 2023 Neal? Was one of them the pair you’re going to send to denim heaven or post to Germany?
