I recently discovered this personal project font—Favorit Grotesk—which actually looks really brilliant. The designer is finishing redrawing the current weight as well as adding two more weights to the family and will then begin distributing it.

i haven't found many resources for technical aspects. i'd imagine maybe something like a fontlab studio book would be all-technical.

gerrit noordzij's the stroke lays out some different ways of thinking about type & whitespace. gareth hague's blog is pretty informative but not particularly technical though http://alias.dj/blog/ -- maybe something by stephen coles would be more what you're looking for.

i've been following this ecal's student's blog, pretty nice stuff here http://recherches.nicolaspauly.com/

Edited by yea!
