should have mentioned im looking for something a little looser while still being slim. This pic of the 0500s on 2nd is similar I want, but if I size down I dunno if it'll be slimmer than this.

If you want a slim fit, you did right on getting them a size down. I have a true to size pair and the fit is pretty close to straight.

I recently got this samurai belt but I'm thinking if I should downsize on it, what do you guys think? My jeans are size 30 and the belt is 34.

I've always heard that a belt's sized correctly if the middle notch is used. But, personally, I never pay much attention to it. Unless a belt is wayyy too long, I don't care. I just wouldn't want it too small. I think it looks good, plus a belt that's "too big" gives the illusion that you're skinny.

Of course now looking at my belt I see that I use the middle hole.

I wear size 30, hips is around 32" and that belt is size 34. I measured my old belts and I usually use the 32.5" hole...

Right now I am using the hole before the middle hole on that one, which is at 33". The smallest hole, 32", is too small to be comfortable.

The belt is very thick and stiff, makes my old belts feel like plastic.

Ahh, alright then. It might be a bit more work, but the 2nd > BiG. It's cheaper and you get goodies.

im back!!! sams are @18 month mark now. had to do quite a bit of home-cooked repair since last pics posted(and i still haven't repaired all of the holes and such). when i get the momotaros i'll put these in semi-retirement, and post pics then, i guess. it seems the 710 cut has become the most popular cut lately. that damn 710 cut cost me a job!(hard to explain).

Pre-wash measurements on BIG say they're almost the same, but I think the Texas cotton on the Sammy's might shrink more.
