Two more shots, as they just got their 15th wash.  I'm only washing on delicate and hang drying now, as that will keep the frays from tearing as fast.  The texture everywhere is just out of this world at this point.

are the 710OG's worth the money in comparison to the regular 710's? Just trying to decide whether to get them or not. Not sure from pics if the denim looks a bit "smooth" if that makes sense.

The OG denim is much smoother than the 19oz denim. It's much less slubby.

The OG denim feels and looks a lot more regular than the 19 oz. If that's what you like - they're worth it. If you don't, get the XX. My OG start to fade to a very light electric blue, almost like th 25 oz IHs. Not very typical for Samurai.

Just be wary that the waist on the og fits quite different from the xx, and as others have said denim is completely different from xx.

The denim is a lot smoother, but the irregularities (albeit not like what you expect from Samurai) comes alive with washes. Personally love my pair.

Fits different as in smaller? If I'm a w35 in the reg one do I need a w36 in the OG?

is s0500xx will give a contrast fade like s710xx? and then i saw iin ithe internet, theres a 2 version, one with stealh arc, and one with yellow arc, which one still exist?

Waist is inch larger. Wear a 33, but was 35" pre soak, as opposed to a xx which would've been 34.

I have the 19 oz. 710XX and 16 oz. 710OG and prefer the OG.  Beautiful, deep blue color and tightly woven texture -- yes, smoother, which must be what I like.

 

The 500-OG is tempting given the denim and Max's experience with the cut, but I'm denimed out at the moment.  Hopefully. BiG is sold out of my size ;-)

The current lot has yellow arcs, the black arcs were Lot 12or 13 if I'm not mistaken.

Good to hear. I was wondering already, as they show some slubs/irregularities on the inside that should be prone for vertical falling and a nice texture. I only did a handwash so far, as I feared the denim would bleed to a pale blue. In every case, this seems to be the Samurai with the most royal blue hue, no trace of the greyish fading, that is most obvious on the 19 oz denim.

10 oz is not really "hefty". I have 12, 13,5 and 16 oz shirts. 16 oz is not really comfy anymore, but 10 sounds rather light to me. It sure is a nice shirt.

Just to give you an idea of what the texture of the OG denim is like after some washes.

Direct sunlight so the photo is a bit washed out, but the whiskers are setting in.

This denim is a bit slower to lose indigo than other Samurai denims, but I quite like it.

I found them to fade way slower as well. And they get quite electric blue on the spots that faded. Sometimes I think they develop a purple hue and your pictures seem to prove that.

I agree with your point on electric blues popping out, I'm getting that along the fly and coin pocket now.

I really do like the OG denim a lot. Going to try to wear these pretty exclusively and wash less frequently than some of my other pairs.

Very happy with my first pair of Samurai jeans thus far.

Tried snapping some photos of mine, but dropped new phone and cracked the lens and no other camera around.

But I'm not sure if it's because I have washed a couple of times, but haven't found this any slower fading. Interesting how people with same denim have different results.

Maybe I should give my pair another wash, but after roughly 7-8 weeks in I have very little visible fades, I can't recall any other denim that faded this slow. They bleed a lot, but hold the colour pretty good.

Still very dark, but where they are fading there are lots of electric blue hues.
