Also, unless you really really want black denim, I would go with a regular pair of 710's for your first Samurai. The 19oz denim evolves beautifully (many examples in this thread), and the blue jeans are far more versatile in my opinion.

been doing a bit of research on samurai

ive owned a pair of iron heart 301s and FH SE05BSP

went TTS on the 301s, and up 1 on the BSP

is the general concensus to size down 1 on the 710xx for a slimmer fit?

(size 32 for me)

do samurais between different lots fit differently? (e.g. lot 13 compared to lot 14)

and finally, why do some samurais come with arcs and tabs and others not?

the general rule for 710 is to go TTS unless you have slim legs and your thighs allow the sizing down. waist won't be the problem.

yeah, Samurai do differ between lots and also inside every lot. hand made jeans.

and about the arcs: because they are designed that way and because of levi's law suit

there is nothing like Samurai's original denim. they offer a wide range of denim(15-24oz lht and rht). the zero denim is one of them. it weights 17oz. the 'original' denim of the 710 cut is 19oz though.

wore them a lot, washed them probably 10 times by now? i have no idea, lost track a long time ago. there is a hole developing in the crotch, will probably try and have big fix them when i'm in nyc next.

Picked up a pair of S003JPs from BiG a few months back. They haven't made it into the daily rotation, but will eventually. So far, I'm very impressed with the quality. I have an itch to pickup the Samurai hoodie, anyone have experience with it? Worth it or waste of money?

continuing on with my progress report on the s003jp-a.

these are really starting to fall apart on me a week crossing the 3 month mark. So I gave them a soak.

this is a presoak picture of the combs from the inside out. thought they looked pretty interesting.

this is for all you pocket bag lovers. its not quite as fancy as the previous posts but i like them all the same. presoak.

After the soak, most of the starch came off and they wound up so much softer. which means there was plenty of starch to begin with since yuichi-san did the initial soak for me.

This is the 3rd rip so far. 2nd rip on the crotch.
