Boots

ok

Recommended Posts

this is going to be vague but bear with me.

i saw marc anthony wearing a pair of dope boots in a picture from olympus fashion week in ny. no designer name or anything. and i dont know how to upload the pic.

but if anybody has a lead on some good boots that look like boots, not pointy or dressy or thin let me know. they look like a cross between work boots and dress shoes.

i know there have been forums on boots etc before but i havnt seen anything good.

i have those very same boots, i got them on zappos for $115, they may still be there for that price. Quality stuff, very well made and will last for ages. Nice leather as well. Traditionally these types of boots are to be worn with slim straight leg or taper type pants or jeans. I personally only wear them with collared shirts, something about boots and tees that i just dont feel right. here are the shoes that are in that collection if you want other angles. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/15131879/c/7.html

I used to own 3 pairs of Fluevogs back then. They are very good quality boots. Re how to wear them, at least a straight cut kind of pants. Pointed toes are harder to pair with a t-shirt, but I think it can be pulled off, a darker shade of shirt maybe.

yeah all i wear is tight tapered jeans. long johns, hobokens, jims, finns etc.

I dont see the boot version on zappos however which upsets me because zappos is so friggen cheap!

could i get some pics perhaps? darkanimal i really dig your style in WDYWT by the way.

Any other suggestions guys? id really like something in a zipper but i guess these will do. I saw some really nice prada ones today (600 however). definately want black

My camera is lost somewhere in my new house so I have no pics. If you are looking for boots that are abit cheaper try www.underground-england.co.uk they have really nice pointy models for around $120 that are pretty well made for the price.

EDIT: Speaking of zappos, does anywhere know where i can get these boots (or some similar slouch/engineer boots) for cheaper?http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/9708618/c/5291.html ....they are perfect, but fuck paying $400 for them, i can get diors or cloaks for that.

I would just go with a nice pair of Chelsea boots as they are much more versatile and can be worn with a suit or jeans/t-shirt. Here is a great post on some affordable pairs from Styleforum:

http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=17485&highlight=chelsea

wow i love those ones in that post. seems that guy is in the exact same boat as me! haha

thanks england.

haha yeah, that was my post on the styleforum. I think we are both are after the same style boot! I ended up ordering these: http://http://www.pediwear.co.uk/detail.php?stock_ID=1813 Hopefully I will like them and they will fit!! Most people on here and style forum probably hate the perforations, but i like them.... i think :D ... and I may need them for more dressy situations....

I really like the agnes b but cant find them anywhere!

I also like the first pair you posted.

I like the look of a pointed toe, however I think the boots on the underground site are bit too pointed and would end up not being versitile enough (basically what england said) for me at least. If the pair I ordered don't work out I think ill get the pair you posted.

I used to have a pair of ankle-high british army dress lace-ups that I loved.

Alas, lost in the wave of time. hand a rounder nose that I loved.

A good idea is to skope online auctions for "ankle boot" or if you have time on your hands "boot".

you'd be surprised who sometimes comes up with a boot you like- kenneth cole etc.

Finding the model you like is the thing.

But with prices online on auctions about $30 , what do you have to lose? that's like 10 pairs of boots.

I love my swiss army boots, greatest purchase ever, have had them for 10 years, just resole them.

Just a side note to vent- Ed Hardy is absolute shit, and I'm so happy I don't have any "old school" tattoos, because all people that have them look like $60 converse ripp-offs by Hardy because of that.

Haha. servers them right.

Yeah no problem man. PM me whenever. I figured I should put my shopping skill to good use, or anything related to shopping! I was a big fan of Fluevog, I remember going into the store in Vancouver circa 1996. The Chicago store has the best I've seen.
