really? that lens has managed to be on par with or slightly better than the nikkor version. Unless he'd spring for the Zeiss or something, I'd say he got a great lens for a damn good value

Sigmas 50 1.4 is world class, and better than any nikkor version with image rendering extremely similar to the 4000+ nikkor noct

It's a play on the name of the highly regarded Leica Summilux-R 50mm f/1.4 lens, considered by some to be the best 50mm lens ever produced.
