ok...seems like a few torontoroids lurking around in supermaps...

so............

from this point we can actually start working on the more detailed area maps though we dont yet have a dedicated correspondent living in toronto to help us with this ... but maybe we can do this via supertalk?!

FIRST ---

can anyone suggest the most important AREAS to map out-- [think 1km x1km square] and if you can give extent of these areas-- approx. north south east west we can get this going.....

[as usual-- all help will be credited on the area maps!]

Bloor Yorkville Area for best shopping.

Boundaries: North-->Scollard St

South-->St-Mary

East-->Churst St

West-->Avenue Rd

In this area you'll find: Gucci, LV, Prada, Chanel, Holt Renfrew, Harry Rosen, TNT (blu, man, woman), 83 Bloor, H&M, Zara, American Apparel, Over the Rainbow, Nike, Zegna, Hugo Boss. The Windsor Arms Hotel is in that area.

might as well do Queen st...and you could do kengsington on it also

North-->Dundas

East-->University

South--> Adelaide

West-->Bathurst

Kensington is up around spadina and Kensington st.

Adrift Skateshop is at the north end of augusta

Dazone, Reset, Delphic are somewhere on queen between bathurst and augusta

dazone and delphic on the north side of the street

and resets on the south side

Goodfoot/Ransom/Nomad are right at Spadina and Richmond on the south side of the street.

Bombshelter is beside the mcdonalds on Spadina at Queen st. ... kinda tricky to find... gotta go down the set of stairs for it.

and then along queen st. you can find...

-Get Outside (shoe store carrying Ipath, birks, clarks, moccasins, puma, and some other weirdass shit)

-Due West (sorta 'gino' but they carry Nudies at a fair price...also...ben sherman, diesel, shit like that)

-So Hip It Hurts (big skateshop)

- Lounge (bape, LRG)

- Black Market (vintage clothing)

- Much Music/Chum headquarters (outta towners would probably wanna check it out...also has a shop)

- Noise (kinda skate shop... carries up and coming brands... along with typical skate companies... also LRG)

- Friendly Stranger (pretty sweet head/paraphanalia shop...also sells alot of hemp products like clothing and soaps)

- also shit like fcuk, club monaco, hmv, starbucks...typical stores with typical people... but Queen is a trendy spot just to go and walk along, chill out on the outdoor patios n stuff.

I'd be able to give a pretty good City, Area, Description, Products, Clientele, Service, Interior, Ambiance, Last checked, Address, phone, fax, website for Adrift, Dazone, Goodfoot, Bombshelter, So Hip it Hurts, and Noise... i'm sure there would be better people than me to do the rest of them.

There is no Holt Renfrew on Adelaid.

Put GOTSYLE on the SE Corner of King and Brant instead.

i-cii is no more, replace by 83 Bloor, whose lablel got mixed up with Tiffany's on the map.

Here are some noteworth bars/lounges/restuarants:

King West

Susur 601 King St. West - Famous chef Susur Lee's restaurant, exotic cusine.

Lee 603 King St. West - Susur Lee's cheaper casual place, still great design and exotic, tapas style cusine.

Brassai 461 St. King West - great traditional bistro, amazing patio, in an old warehouse.

The Spoke Club 600 King St. West - members only club. amazing place, has a dinning room, bar, library, great design, find a member to take you as a guest.

Brant House 522 King St. West - another cool place with a great patio right next to 8 Restolounge (12 Brant St.) and West Lounge (511 King St. West), 3 very trendy "it" spots.

Yorkville

Toni Bolloni's 156 Cumberland St.- great little spot in Yorkville for fantastic itallian cusine, not expensive and not pretentious like the rest of Yorkville, there are always athletes and celebs in there.

Lobby 192 Bloor St. West - cool place, all white, trendy, yound rich jewish kids hang out in the bar but they added a serious kitchen and do great mini kobe burgers

Montreal Bread Co - 100 Bloor St West - address is Bloor but you must get to it from the street behing bloor, see Finacial District for info.

Queen West/Entertainment District

Sandwich Box 238 Queen St. West - $7 lunch, grilled sandwiches: highest quality ingredients pick your bread, spead and 3 ingredients.

Burrito Boyz 120 Peter - freshest ingredients, huge, cheap, great lunch always lined up out the door

Ultra Supper Club 314 Queen St. West - Amazing rooftop patio, great food, beautiful people

Kai 220 Richmond St. West- Asian themed club of the moment, enter in a sketcy back alley, saw Paris Hilton there last week if thats your thing.

The Fifth 225 Richmond St. West- club underneath, take the elevator the fine dinning restarant or go to the great rooftop with cabans and some great easy food and fantastic cocktails

West Queen West/Parkdale

Czehoski 678 Queen St. West - trustfund hipsters and area locals, great design old butcher shop with remnants from the past operation. try the $37 burger, lots of organic, inventive playful cusine

Bar One 924 Queen St. West - Cool place, live jazz, good fresh modern italian, amazing back terrace.

Clafouti 915 Queen St. West - Amazing french bakery, famous croissants, good sandwiches too.

The Social 1100 Queen St. West - Slightly gritty but kind of bridges the gab between the trendyness and girttyness of the area, spillover from the Drake, Mischa Barton hung out there, so did all the hot indie acts (Franz Ferdinand, Broken Social Scene)

Dufflet Pastries 787 Queen St. West - Best pastries, small little bakery, a Toronto staple, order cakes for home or sit at the window and have a key lime tart while you watch the hipsters, cokeheads and modern couples stroll by.

Kensington Market

The Boat 158 Agusta Ave - Kennsington Indie kid hotspot, cool rundown place

Supermarket 258 Agusta - cool trendy spot asian food, mixed crowd all the artsy, punk, skater whatever kensington kids juxtapose with the 905ers and metrosexuals

Finnacial District

Bymark 66 Wellington St. - AMAZING food, cool design, lots of bay street sharks and the women who love them

Ki 181 Bay St.- think LA's "Koi"; see above

MBCo (Montreal Bread Co) 66 Wellington St. - Amazing fresh lunches, great design white marble wood floors. shrimp and lobster quesadillas, ahai tuna nicoise sandwich etc, you get the idea, in the food court of the TD center, the yorkville location is better has an outdoor patio

Other

The Bagel 258 College - Another Indie kid ironic spot, get drunk cheap.

Thats it for now, those are some of my favourite places to hang out or eat, can add more.

you're missing a complete map for kensington market, lots of great vintage shops and restaurants. not to be missed. looks good so far though, i look forward to seeing finished maps. some other suggestions...

SHOPS:

adrift, 299 augusta ave. skateshop with a small indoor park in the back that doubles as venue for small shows. alife shoes, vans vault, lrg, wesc, nike sb, the usual skate brands too. unless it's raining the store is devoid of employees because they're outside skating.

exile, 20 kensington ave. biggest selection of levis in kensington market (the redlines are pulled before they hit the racks, but nice orange tabs in abundance).

klaxon howl, 877 queen st west, across from trinity-belwoods park. (647) 436-6628. sister store to delphic, vintage (or vintage styled) military/americana gear. mostly men but a few womens pieces. brands like stone island, belstaff, lvc (i think?), local designers.

HAIR:

coupe bizarre, 704 queen st west. (416) 504-0783. for the hipster in all of us. razor cuts and strange assymetrical fringes. i've found in personal experience that you either have to be very insistent or completely vague about your desired cut to get it, depending on the stylist.

civello, 269 queen st west M5V 1Z9. (416) 977-7755. corner of queen and duncan, southwest corner. never been but regarded as one of the best salons in the city - the price for a senior stylist is exorbitant.

also, goodfoot/ransom/nomad are on richmond st, west of spadina on the south side of the street, not on spadina ave.
