Do you look for chainstitching on other things you buy?

totally epic

Ever since I've gotten into raw denim, I notice or look for chainstitching in everything I buy now. Most of the time, it's not there, but occassionally I am pleasantly surprised.

For example, I have some 600 threadcount bedsheets that have chainstitching all around, but I didn't notice it until I washed them.

I think a lot of "chain stitching" on other articles of clothing is actually just variations on the overlock stitch. I personally don't care either way. The only time I've ever sweated a chain stitch was when I got my Sammies hemmed. I really only do it to preserve any jeans that were originally chain stitched.

I bought a hundred year old chain stitching machine and use it for all my sewing jobs. It's too small to deal with denim though. I can't remember seeing it on anything else though.

fresco union special mate? how much did it run you?
