I will be managing the Alife store in Vancouver. I just registered to let you know that things are going well...delayed due to some tweaks to the floorplan...but we should be open shortly.

I haven't had a chance to see all the inventory yet...I should be going through the boxes and boxes of goods in the next week or so. So no specifics right now...I know that's a bit of a tease...but I don't want to ruin the surprise. I don't see why we wouldn't have Krink...I'm going to say a tentative "yes" to that.

The store is directly related to the NY team. The guys were out here the other week fine tuning the floor plan.

I'm not going to speak for them and say why they opted for Vancouver.

Some reasons I feel it is a good fit are:

Pacific Rim business.

Huge skateboard scene.

Distribution centre for RTFT is based here.

Developing city due to upcoming 2010 Olympics.

Big film/tv/commercial industry.

Vancouver style is casual and streetwear is the norm.

Again, these are only my opinions as to why Vancouver is a good fit. The guys incharge may have some other reasons.

I dunno bout you, but paying crazy $$$ for shipping and customs duties, etc is no fun for me.

Granted it's cool to go down to NYC and hit up all those stores, it'd be nice for once to be able to walk down the street in TO and actually pick up some of the gear you see/read/hear about.
