The Evolution of Jeans: Pictures, Scones and Tea

These LVC 1955 cut 501s are what I wear around the house, they've seen some serious netflixing, walking the dog and mowing the lawn  B) I got them deadstock in January, they're made in U.S.A. (555 code on button). They've seen 4 months of wear all in all, but tons of washes since somehow I always manage to stain them with something. The top block is starting to show some fading, but the relaxed cut isn't great for getting honeycombs with all the frequent washing. I don't really mind though. The denim is relatively hairy, the pics don't really do it justice.

These are my Nudie Grim Tim Orange Selvage. I've worn these jean on and off for 2,5 years, at this moment they are more or less retired. They had three washes and a lot of repairs. Hope you like them!

They look to good to retire, still lots of wear in them. If you decide to retire them, put them in the retired denim gallery

Thanks! I still like the color/fadings but the fit is a bit to tight for me now so I only wear them occasionally to festivals/ concerts etc.

Maybe you should sell it to a lazy fuck like myself instead of hardly wear em ;-)

Last oktober I started on a pair of Diesel Tepphar Turbo Denim. They said they would fade faster and I liked the fit so I picked up a pair. I posted a thread on RAWR form day one. You can view it there if you are a freak and want to see the progress day-to-day. I also made a

of the progress in iMovie for the freaks with less time

I was wondering wether to wash them or not but decided I wanted 30 more wears before the first wash. However, the decision was made for me (not by me). A long story short: party, alcohol, testosterone, stupid friends, pool, embarrassment, cold bike ride home. So I washed them at 67 days of wear. Invented a great method of washing btw, will tell you if anyone is interested.

So here some pictures of the second to last day of wear before the wash, fit pic on the eventful evening and some post wash pics (contrast and fit). Tell me what you think:

Last oktober I started on a pair of Diesel Tepphar Turbo Denim.

They still make these?  I had a pair like 4 years ago as my intro to raw denim.  Probably a bad idea on Diesel's part to make them, as I - and probably a lot of others - transitioned into higher end raw denim as a result of buying these and never bought another pair of Diesels again.  Hah.  In any case, I think they fade a little faster, but it seems like it's probably just a result of a weak dying process rather than some special treatment, as they claim.  Too bad the denim is pretty poor and rips way too quickly.  I haven't seen anyone go past maybe 7 or 8 months in a pair of these, so, for nostalgia's sake, I'd be curious to see what they look like a long time down the road.  Wear them hard!
