im in the market for a new point and shoot

mainly looking for small size, great image quality, and manual settings would be nice

only camera i found with decent manual settings is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 but from reviews seems like noise is an issue with most panasonic cameras

any other recommendations?

leaning towards this right now though i am tempted by some of the panasonic models

I have never really been satisfied with the picture quality from my panasonic fz7 with regards to noise and i understand thats a problem mirrored across the range. I owould strongly reccommend checking out in detail all the sample photos for a panny before deciding - particualr those at higher iso (Which i did but didn;t really appreciate until later i guess). Having said that its superb for shooting birds and stuff, depends on your desired usage.

homi29, i'd stick with the panasonic. you can't pass up the 16:9 widescreen mode. haha.

if you (or anyone else) is interested, check out the olympus stylus epic

sorry, it's not a digi, but it's cheap ($79.99) and it has a great lens on it (fixed 35mm f/2.8).
