Low summer sneaks, stuck between old VansxWTAPs(found a deal) and Zigs. Leaning toward suede Zigs right now.

If anybody has other recommendations I'd appreciate it, I'm a size 11US and my price cap is $150. Thanks fellas.

which sambas?

(bear in mind i'll be wearing them with both jeans and with shorts...)

any suede ones i'd say.

couple of days ago i saw a tall dude with some black clothes, not ultra steezy but he had beaten up black suede sambas and i thought damn i should get myself a pair.

well, they fit under the specs the guy was looking for.

ray ban makes well crafted frames, regardless.

Ray Ban is a subsidiary of Luxottica (they also own Persol, Oakley and Oliver Peoples) which uses industrial production -- 30 million units per year. Ray Ban might be "high quality" in relation to your gas-station rack variety sunglasses, but I'm skeptical of the snake oil salesman language used on their website when I'm trying to find out the nitty gritty production details of their "high quality" eyewear. Ray Ban is not craft quality in the same way as Mykita might be described.

Luxottica has been pushing Ray Ban as the "classic" and "timeless" brand for eyewear even though Ray Ban is predated by another company like Moscot by 22 years. Moscot is just off the top of my head, I'm sure there are other frames makers that have been around longer.

In short, don't believe the hype and do your research.

Moscot's an old classic, but they've been mass-manufacturing in China, too and quality is about on par with anything coming out of Luxottica. They're all 'fine' -- if you want something more than fine, you'll want to look elsewhere, but at the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with just buying some glasses.

sawyer you're right. i only say what i said because i think they look awesome and my latest pair have lasted me five years without any problem. i've also had other ray ban frames that have lasted me longer amounts of time. also when someone [who did not ask for an opinion] tells me i can't speak of a brand.. that's silly. that's just my personal opinion.

edit: oh, and sawyer, those sneakers are ill.

youonlyliveonce i've had those exact sneaks as a low top and loved em. but part of me wanted the high tops too. it's really a personal preference. no matter the choice, that sneaker will always be your favorite.

if i had to pick one, i'd go low.
