1932 chimoyo two toned cord on wool jacket. Killer piece

Just an observation: I think that Chimoyo jacket is probably not from the 50s, but from the late 30s or early 40s based on the talon zipper with the grommets which was, I believe, only produced in the 1930s.

^^^^is there a resource you know of that chronicles zipper mfg? that would be an interesting tool to have to date things...

There is a Japanese site that has zippers with roundabout dates that I have bookmarked on a different computer--I will see if I can get it later today. Also, the vintage leather jacket forum has discussions about this occasionally. The early Talons have the name "Hookless" inscribed on the pull. But the grommet fastener and that deco zipper pull are definitely 30s and 40s. Of course, the jacket could have been made in the fifties with older zippers or the zipper could have been replaced, but judging from the condition of the jacket, that seems extremely doubtful.

madeline... wondering if you have ever come across cherokee jeans... found a piar deadstock at the thrift store this weekend... beautiful raw denim, offset center belt loop, heavy scovill zip. no visable selvage, since both leg seams were felled.

any info?
