SuFu, which job do I pick?

Recommended Posts

I just graduated high school and I'm going to Marquette University next year. So now I've gotta choose between these two summer jobs, help me out!

Job A

+Worked there for two years, so I know the work and it's easy stuff

+Know the people and love the people

+Secure summer job (I'll be able to come back during future years)

-Less pay

-Shitty environment (really hot and sweaty, dirty)

-Very monotonous work

Job B

+More pay

+Nice environment (air conditioned, clean)

+Varied work

-New work, don't know what's going on

-Don't know anyone, very small company

-Possibly only a job for this summer (but I could possibly come back next summer)

What do you guys think? Which would you choose?

I'd pick B

You seem to know the people in A better and I bet if you tried out B and that didn't work out so well for you

You will still have a job at A

That's how it was and is for me. Employers, even tho you quit, if you leave on good terms they would always hire you again over another applicant.

I would personally go with B, just cause of the higher pay (unless the pay increase is marginal). The fact that it isn't secure isn't a big deal cause you usually don't work the same summer job after you start university anyways (the assumption is that you'd be more qualified in your discipline after being in university and will be elgible for jobs that are related to your field down the road, even if just on a temporary basis).
