films you're looking forward to seeing

Recommended Posts

1. haneke's remake of his own funny games.

2. masochistic reasons, primarily - it will likely be butchered for the american audience.

+1 Not that the original was a masterpiece but it had some interesting elements. I think Haneke has really grown as a filmaker since he made the original, now being able to deliver his ideas using the full range of cinematic possibilities instead of releasing slightly more complex filmic plays..

Il Caimano: Because I want to see Berlusconi get dragged through mud

Un conte de Noel: Desplechin is one of the most interesting filmakers working right now and his last movie (Kings and queen) was his best to date

Boarding gate: Assayas is making a (kinda) HK action movie, what's not interesting about that!!??

true, true, though as much as like naomi watts as an actress, i'm extraordinarily skeptical that she can match the intensity of susanne lothar's performance.

and i'm really hoping they keep the john zorn in the soundtrack, or at least duplicate the extreme musical juxtapositions for the opening sequence.

i'm realy looking forward to these two:

1) Knocked Up

2) I like tv shows & movies produced by Judd Apatow.

1) Hot Fuzz

2) I liked Shaun of the Dead.

1) SuperBad

2) Starring George Michael Bluth!

i don't really go to the movies much. kinda tired of remakes of old movies/foreign movies. kinda looking forward to the new die hard though :>

The Host was pretty good, a little on the long side and not quite as funny as the advertisements implied, but still probably worth seeing. Lives of Others is probably the best movie I've seen this year.

Looking forward to Spiderman 3, for some reason.

really looking forward to American Gangster. Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe and Ridley Scott is the director. Have big expectations for this.

American Gangster is a biopic of Harlem heroin kingpin Frank Lucas. Lucas grew up in rural, segregated North Carolina where he watched as his cousin was shot by the Klan for looking at a white girl. In the early 1970s he became the biggest heroin dealer in Harlem with a smuggling scheme that imported heroin out of Southeast Asia in the caskets of dead Vietnam soldiers. He soon made upwards of one million dollars a day in drug sales. American Gangster centers on narcotics lawman Richie Roberts' struggle to bring down Lucas, whose flamboyant style earned him the street name "Superfly", and catching the crooked cops and drug dealers who profited from Lucas's scheme.
