oh great lol i'm not much of a partier =\

Liverpool is an old industrial city that hasn't been doing well for a LONG time now. couples year ago, i lived with a scouser and he was always saying how better the city is now, but that just mean that that place must have sucked so hard before. the place is just grey and depressing to me... there isn't much to do except going to the pub and trying to understand what the fuck ppl are saying (ppl have the ugliest and hardest to understand accent in the world IMO). at time, i wouldn't even call it english. if football season is on, you HAVE to, and i really means HAVE to, go see a game at Anfield, or at the very least, in a pub.

haven't been to Wales so i can't really help

London is really, awesome, my second favorite city after Tokyo. there is like TONS of stuff to do. so many historic sites to visit, plus it's like the museum capital of the world (with Paris) and the good thing is that most museum are free which is really appreciated since London is extremely expensive.

3 games at Anfield left so it will be hard to get tickets but if you can I strongly recommend it. No better sports atmosphere anywhere in the world. Liverpool is still in champions league so the city will be crazy during the games. We're assuming that you're going there fairly soon.

I used to live in Cardiff (capital city of Wales) Unless youre going into the countryside, there is really no other place worth going to in Wales... You might like shopping at Drooghi in one of the arcades on St. Mary's St. there. Also, try going out at the Buffalo Bar, that place was really cool, very chilled out lounge/club vibe and some of the better looking people in Cardiff if youre into artsy/hipster types that arent poor students. If you just want to get laid, basically go to any other bar in Cardiff - there are so many way to drunk slags. Not my thing but knock yourself out. If youre into quirky stuff, you should try and see if Jacob's Market is open, its a 2 or 3 story antique shop behind the train station. Coffee is also outstanding at Atlantic Coffee and its a few yards away from Drooghi - I was in love with this beautiful portugese woman there, she makes the best espresso. If youre in Cathays, eat lunch at the Cathays community centre - cheap and some of the best food in the city. Madame Fromage is also good for lunch (get quiche) and right across the street from Atlantic Coffee. Finally, if youre into the arts scene Chapter is a great place to see an art house film or drink beer amongst the welsh intelligentsia. Hmmm, there is some other good stuff, but that is all the essential Cardiff info.

I take it you've never been to a Rangers v's Celtic match :-)

I've been to Cardiff a few times over the last few months and I wasn't impressed at all, they try to make out that Cardiff bay is a new exciting cool area, when realistically it's crap.

Basically it has a castle and a stadium and thats pretty much it.

Skip Wales, go to Ireland.

Agreed.

You should definitely go to Liverpool though.

Here’s a little list of places you might want to check out while you’re there:

The Albert Dock.

http://www.albertdock.com/

Tate Liverpool gallery has a good collection of modern and contemporary art.

You can also do the quintessentially touristy ferry across the mersey thing from near here:

http://www.merseyferries.co.uk/

Everyman theatre & Liverpool Playhouse:

http://www.everymanplayhouse.com/

Both good for drama, comedy and dance.

Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall:

http://www.liverpoolphil.com/

An excellent orchestra and live classical music.

Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and the Metropolitan cathedral are also well worth seeing for the architecture:

Quiggins (sadly closing soon because of the 2008 City of Culture redevelopments..)

http://www.quiggins.com/

There are lots of good restaurants, my personal favourite is The Egg:

http://www.cocoon.u-net.com/

Really nice vegetarian bistro.

Clothes shopping isn’t all that great. The Cavern Walks complex on Mathew Street has a few designer outlets including Vivienne Westwood, but nothing too spectacular. The city centre itself is quite small and self-contained so just wander around the Met Quarter, Church Street and Bold Street and you should see most of the highstreet stores.

This is all good advice btw. Please ignore my neg rep if you can...

Enjoy the city when you go and feel free to pm me if you want anymore info on anything. :)

Not in London, there are plenty of Brazilians and other Central and South Americans. As someone said there is PLENTY to do in London. I would just grab a cheap travel guide and find what suits you.

my arse, I grew up there and there's fuckloads to do. There are galleries, shops, tons of good bars.

already moved to different locations around the city.

I'm not exactly a connoisseur of culture, but I can tell you the best places to get drunk, if you're into that sort of thing.

should i bring my skateboard with me or will it just be extra baggage to lull around

You gonna be with other people that skate? Are you going to have the time or plan the time to find spots to skate? I'd say leave it at home but if you think you're gonna have a lot of down time then it might be a good idea to bring it. However, there is so much to see and do so I'm not sure if it would get much use.
