Yeah, I've looked through that book before. Jill Bonny actually works at State of Grace in San Jose along with his other ex-apprentices. I'm currently on the wait list for Horitomo

Hit us up with a pic of your tatt, dude. Wouldn't mind your girl's either.

What is your guys view of mixing black and grey and colour, I have a few pieces of black and grey at the moment and am thinking of getting some classic flash in colour but am curious as to what you all think about it potentially clashing?

my friend has color one arm, black n grey the other... looks cool, but theyre all relatively traditional....

I think xewo's pic just a few posts up is a nice example of mixing some color in. if there is no coherence between the pieces, I imagine it would easily look out of place though.

maybe stick to like two colors... I'm so tempted to add little bits of red and yellow to future pieces

a good tattoo will look good next to a good tattoo for the most part... if the artist is good hell plan it well

right

quality b/w stuff will look next to quality color. dont sweat it too much, just get whatever you want tattooed on you.

A lingering regret that I got smaller (hand sized to thumb sized) tattoos in random areas barring me from getting any larger upper body pieces... hmm...

who tattooed that thinfinn?

done by an artist called Wilm or Wilma...a german guy which is very popular in the scene. he doesn't do any kinda advertising at all and only owns a small shop/studio (2rooms) in the back of a rockabilly clothing store. he's in the game for 17years now he said and tbh. imo it's one of the best artists/works I've seen so far (in person that is!)...

he's pretty busy and always booked (booking can be done every 3months and only via phone call at a certain date and time!)

not sure if I've uploaded all the stuff he did on me and the gf, but if you want I'll see what I can do...

work looks nice, i found some myspace under that name but he didn't have any of that new age tattoo kind of stuff. nice tattoos, but a bit all over the place. is he focusing on that aesthetic more now or is it just yours and your gf's preference and he goes for it?

well it's pretty simple actually... i/we come up with an idea of what we'd like to have and after those ideas he draws a sketch and then it's back to discussing said sketch or it's get done that way, after everything is to ours and his ideas!

he isn't specialised on a certain style but he hates lettering and loves doing big pieces...so my next one is going to be sth. nice again ;)
