i don´t know to a 100%, but i think it´s a coil!

gonna ask him though as soon as i´ll go in for my next one...

its probably a coil then. the two machines sound completely different. (coil is traditional tattoo buzz, rotary is much more quiet, usually used for shading) as the machine operates in a different fashion. in the end its all really personal opinion as both machines can accomplish anything, really.

well he actually used like 3-4 different machines on me...but if you're talking about the noise differences, then he used a coil for the darker parts of shading and a rotary for the lighter parts...

hope that makes sense!?...
