... hedonistic rationality prevails. with fashion. and with food. with most things really...

felix pizza looks da bomb!

analog i don't have a ruler in inches but that looks like a pretty bigass burrito in relation to the size of the coke can.

plongin where's this "little cafe" you speaketh of? new secret place?

The flavour is very mild, not too sweet but not bland. Bits of rockmelon makes up for the somewhat underwhelming taste. The consistency is generally smooth but there were some icy bits, possibly due to gaps in refrigeration during transportation. Also tried their macha red bean icecream before and wasn't really impressedby it too (the icy-ness was worse).

Zha Cai La Mian (Ramen with shredded pork and vege)

Chinese Gyoza, Wo Tip

Filled Dumplings, Xiao Long Bao

Stir Fried Nian Gao (Sliced Rice Cakes)

Food was absolutely terrible in what was the worst Shanghainese food establishment to sprout in the city I live in. I am quite certain a true Shanghainese would never eat there.

plongin is that the steamboat place at golden mile?

i agree with simcoo, the chicken is better than the steamboat.

yeaahh its the one at golden mile. according to old folks, in "their" time, it was the best steamboat around (and until this day, the old folks still talk about it). but both of you are right, i loved the chicken rice, but the steamboat wasn't my liking at all. im more a coca steamboat buffet kinda guy. i wonder whats up with the taste buds of old folks...

but i ate everything though. i was fuckin hungry.

^ whizkit good job on making that ice cream sound uninviting. heh. now i gotta try it to see just how blah it is. anyways, if you dig durian, next time i'll take you to try a D24 gelato that's damn awesome.

felix i want maultaschen.

plongin yes that golden mile steamboat baffles me with its popularity. there's the whole stretch along beach road, near liang seah street that's got like at least 6 steamboat joints. and they're always packed. i'm always tempted to try, but my mum scares me with horror stories of soup-recycling...

took the deserving mother out to dinner again. been frequenting this joint a fair bit:
