So weird! I wasn't with Mistress today but I too had wanton mee for dinner! Mine is a super el-cheapo one from the kopitiam (coffee shop, not the Starbucks kind...).

SGD2.50 man!!!

soepom"s sl*t, do you eat out for every meal?!

you should go over to soepom's house more often, I hear her mother makes a mean birthday meal. just tell her its your birthday and get a good home-cooked feast.

nairb49, I used to eat at home a lot more often when my Granny was stronger and we had a helper to assist with the housework and cooking. Not so anymore. Sometimes Dad cooks but w're both so busy we tend to eat out a lot.

And yes, I've actually been to a dessert sampling at my Mistress' house once before but not for a full-on feast. My birthday is coming in two weeks though... *hint hint* ;)

kauflust - that looks like a pretty yummy meal!

sl*t - wah is that wanton telepathy or what! when my mum is less busy with work, will get you and your bf to my place for makan!

chicken & waffles and then getting the itis.

i've never heard of chicken and waffle combination before but it looks like it'll work pretty well! is the waffle sweet?

free dinner at work:

aglio olio (with prawn, vongole, scallop and generous amounts of sliced garlic!)

okay here're the rest of the pics from the dinner with the gang:

wayet0331lp1.jpg

(instructions on the chopstick cover) how you should eat xiao long bao:

first you pick one up gently with your chopsticks and put it on your spoon

nibble a small incision on the dumplin skin and suck out all the soup within

eat the rest of the dumpling with ginger shreds and vinegar

wayet0331adw5.jpg

sour and spicy szechuan soup

wayet0331bvi6.jpg

la mian (handmade noodles); one with stewed beef, the other with clear soup and beef slices

fried rice with succulent prawns (yeah over here, shrimps are the tiny ones and prawns are the big ones...)

there was one more dish i forgot to take picture of - crispy prawn pancake in beancurd skin

Good lord.

Please send me some.

because it IS big dumpling noodle! SGD2.50 for that is cheap

compared to what the SAF caters for SGD16 per head per day:

picture0288pe0.jpg

dry mee siam

hard boiled egg (i mean HARD)

couple of cheapshit wieners

some unidentifiable fried objects

i was hungry, so the stray dogs get nothing today.
