Just another weekend of eats at home. Started with some Soup (broth and cream based with gizards, forked chicken and penne), and then to the mains which was mostly made of Roast Beef.

Desert started with some Ice Cream, and Turon (spring roll looking things, made of deep fried bananas and raw sugar.) followed by Bread Pudding made by the kiddies. Any of which made for more than enough reason to just keep eating the entire day.

Cooked burgers for lunch at home. No Reservations episode had me ditching the griddle for a flat pan, with no place for fat and grease to run, it apparently lets the patty almost.. "confit in its own juices." And.. yeap, that it did.

our final course at Alinea. We had both Chef Achatz and Dave assembling our desert tableside. Cant find the USB cord for the camera to put up our pics. it was totally worth the $350 a head.

Motto food. Later that day.. Bagnet for mirienda. Normal version in the foreground, and a Kare Kare (peanut sauce/emulsion?) in the back.

I'm trying to remember what makes it different from your normal fried pork, and apparently the stuff is boiled first prior to it being dipped in hot oil repeatedly. Oddly enough the entire process wasn't done so much for the amazing texture contrast as it was to preserve the meat for weeks at a time.

And enough of that.. Dinner later on at Little Tokyo, Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki.

as far as asian hot sauces go i dont see the big deal with sriracha.

sambal oelek and chiu chow chilli oil are my asian hot sauces of choice. I dunno what the korean one they give u with bulgogi is called but thats dope as well.

Not the most exciting looking food in the world. That or it was just a terrible day for taking photos. Snaps from dinner with the lady at Kaya.

Ever changing spread of daily Appetizers, Spicy Beef and Noodle Soup (Kimchi based, probs), and Grilled Spicy Squid. What it lacks in anything exciting, it probably made up for in how damn spicy good it all was..
