babylon haffi fear...

im listening to durrty goodz at work and bouncing off the walls... not even halfway through and this ting is a classic already.

EDIT: this just went from hectic level 10 to off the charts in the span of one song.

i dunno if i'm listening to really ferocious dancehall or grime anymore.

do jamaicans know what is going down in london? they need to know.

Unfortuanately ...I can't fuck with torrents on my computer at work, but that Plasticman set looks amazing.

Been listening to this Rinse set from last week, DJ Tubby feat, Newham Gens and Tempa T. Quality is shit, but I'll be damned if they don't fuck up the Grimey dubstep beats. Tempz is a badman on this one.

Glad the Goodz CD is getting love. Track 13 "can't hold me down" is one of the best songs i've heard this year Period. And this shit is a mixtape sampler!!!

Don't sleep on those other ones, theres some real heat on em.

Burning on di highway, its di highest grade, Gets into my head

At times I bake it, sometimes I'll steam it,I give it to some of my bredren and my sistren, who use it

It's the king of the forest, Babylon they dont like it,They chop it up, they heap it up, and then dem destroy it

They stick you up, they lock you up, they take it for a crime,Wellit's the healing of the nation bet yuh neva know

Don't think I'm joking herb its what I'm smoking,I tell my friend him go sow it and it touch up like a token

Oh the pastor man him smoke it an him sey that its the reason, Oh yes I draw high grade, a song about it I will sing............

i don't know if i'm blinded by his repeated use of the american style 'niggaz',

the way his voice is mixed, or the live setting, but.. am i actually liking kano

good to hear some deeper shit too, it has been on high rotation since i got it.

mayhem producing dubstep too now eh? look forward to hearing what he comes up with....there's quite a few dnb heads crossing over now...it generally seems to be those on the darker end of the dnb spectrum - ie juju, tech itch.

  • 4 weeks later...

Wasn't really feeling Big H off that one video, couldn't get into the beat .. I'll have to check out more from his crew and his solo stuff.

I wonder if the Wiley and Dizzee leaked on the net already, about to go look that up. But, this is dropping next week too and I can't wait ..

Yeah...Dint think most would feel him. Him and Pres T are on some other shit flow wise...Meridian crew as a whole was/is sick though. And for the record...the whole JME Skepta "Boy Betta Know" think comes from H and them...

As for the Ghetts record, that looks really profesh. I hope it's good. You got interest in a movement set from when Scorcher came back from Jail? It;s before they turned all swaggish hip-hop. Good bars from Scorch & Ghetto.

Yeah, I was really into Ghetto's 2000 & Life .. that's prolly my favorite grime mixtape if I had to pick one, so I've been really anticipating this one. I don't think I have any shit from Meridian .. do they have a mixtape out?

For anyone looking for the Wiley album .. hit me up.

Good shit, I'd already seen the Pres T and other Big H vids .. but not that Skep one, checkin.

Meridian doesn't have a mixtape out yet?

Nah...

As you might have heard on the end of that set I gave you, Logan Sama was gonna do one of his hour long mixtape/sets radio style but with much better quality. For whatever reason, shit never happened. "Bloodline", who are half of meridian have one though, problem is, everything that isn't H is pretty much hiphopish trash. H has sick cuts on there though. I'll get em to ya some how.

On another note, thanks for the Wiley promo. Shit sounds pretty good, bar maybe two or three tracks. I'll definitley pick up a legit copy at Kim's when it comes in simply to blast good quality versions of BowE3 and No Qualms in the ride...
