true, his music is especially oriented for systems, but pretty much all the music we're listening to is gonna sound better loud enough to feel it. That Get Lifted remix was one of my favorite tracks of the year, but I can barely hear pariah in this one.

On another note, I saw Nicolas Jaar at Soundbar in Chicago and it was crazy. More people than I'd ever seen in that venue. I think he played a VIP of space is only noise as the last track, but I was drunk as fuck and geeking out so maybe it was all in my head...

yeah everything sounds better louder, but when youre talking about not hearing pariah in this one, i think thats what i mean. theres less 'lyrical' or tonal substance. some tracks can be alot of things at once but these are purely quick hitting weapons for the floor. and i agree with u that the get lifted remix sounds better

I know nothing about gear or DJing but would like to have something that can do all of the basic necessities just to mess around with (control pitch, bpm, crossfade, cue points, play/record samples, etc. fx would be nice too). Wasn't that impressed by the new Karenn. It was good for sure, but it sounds like the last few Blawan releases. Not really feeling the techno shit he's doing as much as the old 2-step like rhythms.

I cannot get enough of it. I love the resurgence of the 4/4 style, it sounds especially good in a set when next to some dope 90s acid jams.
