Unknown Japanese Brands

I think the fit is quite normal for a repro, nothing crazy. Bought them at Unionville, Stockholm many years ago. If memory serves me they bought a slew of odd jeans (from different brands) from a store that went bankrupt.

Sorry to hear that they weren’t conducting business in a proper way.

Seems you can still get some of their stuff at some places online, don’t know how reputable they are though!

Here’s a pic in full sunlight with some other fabrics in comparison.

I have a pair of indigo dyed sashiko and canvas trousers purchased a number of years ago. They are really cool with a few very interesting details. The last photo shows a side seam I’ve never before encountered likely a result of the seam between the sashiko material and canvas. The sashiko appears to be knee reinforcement but it is full sashiko, not an overlay of the canvas. Can anyone identify the brand by its logo as shown in the first photo? Jonathan, from Bandana Almanac, may have helped me with the purchase. Tezomeya keeps coming to mind but I can’t connect the pictured logo with them. Any help in identifying the brand appreciated cause it’s driving me nuts!

edit: just received word from Jonathan, the brand is Koromo

I was being a little secretive until I could confirm if I could get a pair, but I think I'm set now!
rebuilt.jp (who works for YM Factory) is making a pair of 22 repros for Matin shop in Japan, quite reasonably priced around 200 USD.
Perfect replacement for the TCB contest jeans that I chose to send back over the whole arcs thing.

@ColonelAngus I have 4 Deluxeware sweatshirts all in a size L, which are relatively fitted on me. In UK sizing, I would wear size M. I think they’re standard-ish Japanese sizing, in which you would size up one from a western size. Quality is first rate.

I'm assuming you mean size up one from my western size? If I sized down I'd look like the Hulk trying to fit in kids clothing lol

@Spiraltoy

Pics would be great. Deluxeware has a type 3 that looks interesting

Finally got around to taking some photos of the Sassafras shorts mentioned above. They've now been my main leg-wear for a total of around two weeks and change in the backcountry, plus some day hikes and a few hotter-than-usual days around town.

I haven't been easy on them, and overall they've held up well. The fabric used for the double layer on the back is maybe a little flimsy, and tore more quickly than I would've liked, but in its defense I was sliding around on some pretty sharp volcanic rock at the time and for all I know it might've torn just as easily through denim.

They've gotten wet a bunch (and sweaty and dirty a bunch) and held their shape just fine. That said, the sizing's maybe closer to standard Western than Japanese, and overall a M might fit me better than an L.

The pocket bags are a heavy twill (heavier than the shorts themselves) and the rear pockets are lined in a lighter twill. All pockets are super deep, super accessible, and feel super sturdy. Big plusses all around, there. The 7x [raised & tucked] belt loops are also appreciated.

Just received the 20's repro made by Ono-san who works at YM Factory.
Very pleased to fill the 20's gap left by the whole TCB competition saga. And I'm happy to say the stitching isn't as orange in real life as it was in the photos!
Can anyone explain the history of the little crooked stitch on the corner of the back pockets? I know the TCB pair had this too, so it must be a 20's detail.
Also the cinch is a vintage Solide buckle, they put a little protector on it for delivery. :D
