Could anyone point me in the direction of some more information about Denim Project / Devis jeans?
Looked through the contest thread, but sadly a lot of links are dead and images are gone.
Found a pair of S01XX's on Yahoo Auctions that I might be interested in if I can find out some more info.

^ Sadly not mate, but they were superbly stubborn to fade from what I recall. Too bad they had to shut down. I'd get a pair if I found one in my size.

On another note, I met up with Shingo-san, the mastermind running Denimbridge (and denim blog denimba.com) during my trip in Japan this summer. Real nice guy and crazy about denim just like Inoue of TCB and Ryo & Hiro of Ooe Yofukuten fame. Anyway, I really enjoy the cut of my Denimbridge lot.2 and Shingo told me that his model S Antique is basically using the same pattern, just with a slightly wider waist so I am looking into ordering a pair.

The fun thing is that Shingo sews the S Antique jeans by himself in his workshop in Saitama, all single stitch, while he for example outsourced the lot.3 model to Double Volante. You also get to choose alot of details. Not overly pricey either for 28 000 yen unless you go nuts with selvedge waistband etc.

Worth checking out if you're looking for something different: http://denimbridge.jp/overseas/bridge-s-antique

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Nice to see a pair of the 3rd model, think you're gonna wear them anytime soon?

I've worn my 2nd model for a while now, we'll see if I can sort out some proper images with a decent camera anytime soon.

Ed: The 2nd CR and S Antique are wide straight cuts, the 3rd model is a tight straight cut.

Niro: Thanks mate. Yeah we talked a little about it.

The number one denim is a 13,5 oz 7x7 made by Shinya Mills using Memphis cotton which feels kinda rough. This is the denim he started out with an used for the 3 first models so there are alot of fade samples on Denimba and Instagram.

The 14 oz denim is a deadstock roll that Shingo-san found at a denim wholesale. He didn't know much about it but it's slightly darker in color and a 7x7 weave which is little tighter than the number 1 denim. He hasn't used this fabric that much yet so there's not too much fade samples to look at, but Shingo-sans own S Antique jeans were looking promising.

You can read more about the different fabrics here: http://denimbridge.jp/2017/03/22/7568 and here http://denimbridge.jp/2016/12/24/7232

Thanks Bobbo.

From sounds of it, he sounds more enthusiastic about the 01 denim. I also prefer the look of the 01 denim, gives it a more vintage appeal.

I'll buy a pair of 3rd bridge some day (added to my ever growing list)

Anyone know much about Base Decomp jeans? I've seen some of the Japanese Instagram guys I follow with them, but haven't found much more.
Checking out the hashtag shows some nice denim, not crazy about the waistband taping though: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/basedecomp/
And some photos of the denim worn:

And a link to their blog: http://www.basedecomp.com/blog

Any info on Nihon Menpu's in-house jeans?

The jeans look like they have most of the classic details, but there are no up-close shots, no descriptions of the cuts (let alone measurements), no mention of fabric treatments or possible shrinkage, no nothing. The (presumably) natural indigo pair is particularly appealing, at least in principle, but different photos seem to show very different coloring. Google has not been helpful.

Don’t think anybody here has seen that link. The cuts seem to be the same across all pairs (slim, straight, mid to low rise) - maybe they are putting un-sold denim to good use...

best guess would be to send them a mail to see if they respond. Would be interesting to know if they are still active and ship abroad. Actual measurements would help a lot.

Been looking at stuff from Old Hands and have liked what I’ve seen. Especially the jean. Haven’t seen much talk about the brand and have only found them online here and one other rakuten shop

I've met the designer... can't remember his name, but he seemed awesome and dedicated and I also want to check out his stuff!

So I reached out to Base Decomp to see if I could find some more information and maybe order a pair.
Hiro Nishizawa (lead man of the brand) responded and let me know I could order them and that the jeans are made in collaboration with Yawara Miura. He said he actually has lunch every day with Mr. Miura. ^_^
Unfortunately my size it already out of stock, but the next restock will be in a few months and he will get me squared away then.
He said he has not had any international customers yet so he's figuring that out and they are developing a new homepage as well. Pretty cool!
