For Seiichiro …

Quite similar to my own - except this has a vintage buckle, is built on J&FJ Baker oak tanned bridle at 1 ½” … and quite a bit shorter :blush2:

English bridle leather and Japanese brass for @actuaryboots on IG

I worked the leather a fair bit to make it more supple and the edges have been taken right down to 1200 grit - a slow enough task on wallets but soul destroying work on a belt …

A tiny 23” waist belt … but we still managed to get overlays and old timey hi-dome jewels set on nickel plated steel hardware all crammed onto some latigo leather

Agreed, that’s a really nice buckle, and great colour choice on the leather too.

I love how the Baker strap has developed - the other is too young yet

Thanks Duke! It’s a lot of fun on my part too. Learning so much everytime I write one, just wish I had more time to do it.

On a sidenote, if anyone has an interesting idea for another portrait/interview, shoot me a dm.

Mate I have an idea for your next portrait / interview...

Man, myth, legend or AI chatbot... the real Maynard Friedman uncovered... would be awesome

If you can also land his first WAYWT fit pic... it will blow up the blogosphere!!! :)

Definitely a fun concept to portrait the community from that perspective too.

Will you give my 100 % of the image rights for your fitpics @Maynard Friedman

I made this for Greg at Field Leathers - he’s just down the road from me and makes some lovely leather jackets. Have a look https://fieldleathers.com

I don't really know much/anything about the leather but it should age nicely

Ha!.. i didn't know it was English till i opened it, (i didn't look) i've had some ¥¥¥s in my proxy wallet from past Mercari purchase cash-back and a few bits and bobs stored that i couldn't justify the shipping costs for.. needed a slim belt, looked on Yahoo.. din't find owt, looked at Junky and that was exactly what i was looking for.. measured the size and the cash-back almost paid for it B)

I haven't worn a belt for nearly 15yrs, I think the last one i bought was a SC Garrison sometime around 2006.

Well as you say it’s cost you next to nothing - it’s good leather, be the last belt you’ll ever need given how little you wear them
