Belts

The belt is a harness leather belt w/the side stitching as seen here...

This belt isn't actually from Japan. I often wear my belt pretty tight as I sometimes use it to do more than hold my pants up. I'm sure that's why it's stretched so much.

You should check out his (LGC) bridle leather belts. They are much thicker and durable, plus the leather is nicer.

Yeah it was my first post so probably no one believes me.

I got Sugar Cane Garrison belt from Vari instead, bought last Thurs (26th Feb), arrived this today (2nd March). Damn that was quick!

Post pictures after I get home, if anyone is interested.

Anyone have expierence with Alden's cordovan belts?

I'd like to know this one too. Alden's Cordovan belts are reasonably priced as well.

I'm not sure if I love the look. I'm assuming the build quality is top notch. We already know the leather is.

i'd be buying a belt priced higher than my jeans

something about that seems wrong

it's a strap of cow hide with a metal buckle and about 4 feet of string... you could actually buy a whole cow for that.

i would never drop $300+ on a belt, but then again i'm peasant status

i've been meaning to get a new belt since i joined, just waiting for my old jcrew special to give out

except it hasn't...five and a half years old, at least biweekly if not daily wear, been pissed on, rain soaked, eveything else and it's still going strong

patina isn't anything special (and that's partly b/c/ i haven't cared for it properly), but this is a damn fine belt

don't know if any of you guys are allergic to nickel like I am,

but tanner goods has stainless steel buckles..

I'm definitely looking forward to rashless belt wear!

i'm somewhat nickel intolerant, that's why I like my silver buckle and pewter is also good btw ;)

anyone seen this?

the price is a killer though...someone buy it for my birthday! :P

price is pretty insane and that's not even a silver buckle...

you can get a nice redmoon belt for less than that and I'm pretty sure the quality is up to par...

Just an FYI...I contacted LGC about shortening their belts, and they do it for free if the belt was purchased from them. They remove length from the buckle end (a minimum of 3 inches). I am going to go this route rather than new belt.

Hey! First post on here! Just found this amazing site and have been intrigued ever since. I've been collecting LVC/Lee/Sugar Cane/Edwin and vintage denim for about 10 years. I'm also making leather belts and this thread is right up my ally. Here's a few I've made:

I specialize in vintage style stud belts, but could make pretty much anything I've seen in this thread. Not trying to spam, just show some enthusiasm!

cheers,

Matt

The one in the middle is my scrub belt

I got two pictures of my favorite belt, so I could show the birds and the flowers. I found this belt in a shoe shack in Oneida Tennessee, the guy who does this makes them by hand out of Somerset Kentucky, but the address rubbed off the belt so I can't find him. The belt buckles are a Montana Silversmith and a no namer.

I bought this one in London a while back but haven't really been wearing it since I soaked myself in a splash ride which has left a stain on pretty much the whole lower half of the belt. Tried oiling the belt to even out the stain but I guess the result isn't as effective as I'd hoped.
