Man those SLB's make me cry.

I remember being 9 years old and reading CSS and TransWorld every month. I finally found an ad for Concrete Jungle (I don't know how I remember the name) and got my Mom to order me the Brown/Gum ones. To this day, those are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

Didn't they retro SLB/Sal 23's? I was at the Norstrom's discount store maybe months back and they had the Tan and Gum ones..

Yeah, Etnies re-released the Sal 23 a few years ago.

Also I recall an eS version around 1997-1998 which had an "eS" instead of the "23".

the Howards are the illest...rumor had it they were retro'ed in Japan on the downlow a few years back, after Lakai got going? not sure if that's true but that's what i heard....

I remember wanting those warm grey Kostons so badly, but I had to settle for the white with a little blue and yellow trim.

My friend had the OG black/gum joints before they had air bubbles. Those were so dope.

eS was killing it back when Paul Sharpe and Sal Barbier were on the team, but now they are terrible.

I'll chime in... I got a buddy who collects Howard 2's and Axion Aries(Mariano 2's).

He's got like 20-30 pairs in deadstock condition, pretty amazing.

Props to whoever mentioned Dukes - the first Wray's looked amazing.

Anyone remeber Rudy 2's? They had the big DC logo on the side - so sick.

every nyc pro was rockin the howard 2's w/the strap to death at the time, it didn't matter who their actual shoe sponsor was...i was living in Tucson at the time, and on a visit back home to Michigan checked out a Zoo demo...pretty much every last one of them dudes was rocking the 2's...

a friend got me into my first and only ASR show feb 98 in long beach...i walk up to the vert ramp area and there's Howard, decked out in fourstar, just towering over everybody...i look down at his feet and he had on the grey/orange samples w/the straps just busting out from his jeans...the combo of seeing this dude, who was an idol, plus the shoes...i was just like OH MY GOSH, fanning out in complete stunned silence haha...i had to wait soooo many months for those things to finally drop haha, sooo stoked when that ad (and subsequently the shoes) finally dropped
