his last 3 novels rely heavily on pop culture. His last one, zero history, revolves around denim, japanese manufacturing and tons of "next level" shit.

I know he;s been into this kind of stuff for a while, with his own line with buzz rickson when pattern recognition came out, but this last effort is basically like reading this forum, except well written and entertaining.
