Who else loves oatmeal here?

I just finished left over steel cut oatmeal for a nice prelunch snack. Its good, but I don't really get the hype over steelcut---its chewy. big deal. it takes for fucking ever and the pot is ridiculous to clean. I'm sticking with rolled oats in the future.

what're you trying to make with it?

I made Zhajiang mian. Or something like it. It was alright. I was hoping to use it as a substitute for doenjang later in the week in something (fyi no korean grocers around here,), but I'm pretty sure that's a nay on that. Should have just gone with a thing of red miso, I guess.
