There's this one scene in a couple different movies/tv shows that I've seen but have no idea what it's about. It's a front view of a character and he's walking towards the camera in front of a black background and flying past him and into the background are the neon signs of all the debaucherous places he's been (strip club/bar/gaybar etc etc). It's usually used when he's going through a shitty time. I've seen it used on the simpsons a few times and just saw it today when I was watching silent movie and I'm sure on a whole bunch of other stuff I've seen as well.
