Sizing:

As far as the sizing on the Momotaro 0701 our size chart is accurate if

following our measuring guide, each pair will measure differently so there

is always a chance they'll measure slightly smaller or bigger than posted

measurements. If you're a size 32 in the Skull Black 5010 size 32 then you

may consider the same size 32 in the Momotaro 0701.

I just received my pair and they measured 32" although they were really stiff so it was hard to see anything but 15.5" until I used my three hands to align the waist band and measure.

That is what I was expecting from the Context Clothing measurements so I'm good to go. They are soaking right now. The denim is a bit slubbier than I would have expected from pictures and they are extremely stiff from starch. My hands are a bit sticky from touching the water from the soak.

They fit snug on the waist pre soak. The denim is somewhat sanforized and only shrinks 1" in the waist at max. I put a board in the waist for the soak to minimize shrinking in that area. I was concerned they would be too tight in the thighs for what I was going for if they fit on the waist but I think I lucked out and after a soak they should be perfect.

I'd bet the water is around 55-60 C.

anybody know where to pick these up near Shibuya or Harajuku? These are high on my list and I don't want to travel all the way to Hinoya to get them...

in addition. i'm interested in the 805sp. my poor japanese skills tell me that the 805 is a slim straight? I thought the 705sp was slim straight.

there's Momotaro Jeans direct shop in Sibuya.

see this picture and compare with your tour map

Tokyo, shibuya-ku, jingu mae 6-19-16-1F

sorry, I'm not goot at japanese. couldn't read all the map.

but they explain 0805 as a slim straight model on there web shop

it looks that 0705 is a tight straight.

BiG measurements are wrong- at least recently. I emailed them a couple months ago, apparently they didn't bother to fix. (blamed it on 'variations')

trust context

Only 70-80 pairs are made are made each year, last time my gf visited momotaro store in tokyo, she told me they were out of stock.

dhalgren _ Enjoying your posts; good pickup on the Momotaros. Do they have the hand woven, hand dyed $2000 jeans for sale in the store or do people still have to order and wait a year for them?

+rep dhalgren. were else you go? or should i check all the threads... ;)

you have any info on the vintage label? what makes em different?

Oh, I've been around here and there... ;)

The hoodie I got was size M... I usually wear S, but they size it Japan style. The inside of the hood is waffle knit... very comfy. It comes in 4 colors: grey, red, navy and black... but the black is kinda dark grey.

The Vintage label is the only non-sanforized denim they use. 100% cotton thread. Different back pockets than the war or copper labels too. (in fact, they are the only ones with blank back pockets.) Hidden rivets have their logo stamped, if anyone doesnt already know, its 3 peaches and 3 wooden shuttles.

Just for fun, one last pic of some interesting stuff from the store...

I'm so disappointed with BiG's measurements for 0701...!!!!! it's way off!!!

my advice is size up one....

here is a pre soak fit

4229673242_e42c3608a9_m.jpg

they said 0701 slightly sanforized but isn't that true?

zimbabwe cotton stretch very well my experiential

when you wear it several days it'll fit on you

sorry to bother you

but can you tell us actual measurement of 0701 each part?

I want to buy 0701 but too short front rise makes me hesitate.

I would suggest you buy the 0201 and size down one. I mean, if you were going to buy size 32 in 0701, buy size 31 in 0201. If you look at the measurements, you will get a similar fit, but with a higher rise.
